  at the moment i dont feel great about jws.

  i say this because i just had a call from my sister whos a jw- she lives in another country.

  anyhows, we get talking about my brother who lives abroad in the same country as her.

  It would be nice if the average jw actually believed that God would simply read hearts and do the judging. Fact is, the prevailing view is that those who don't do what they are doing will die at the Big A.

  You are correct...

  I just got back visiting my mother (30+ yrs a JW) and had a 5 hr discussion with her on various topics. When bringing up this subject, in which only JW's would survive Armageddon and the rest would be slaughtered; she wouldn't give me a direct yes or no answer; but that you had to be part of God's only organization, JW's. They are the only ones doing God's work. No exceptions. Everything revolves around the organization. Thats the way it is. I never would get a direct answer to any of my questions..just a question or example back or that it was new light. There's nothing like JW doublespeak. Ugh!

  hi there im new here so a brief biog to say hi.

  ill be a bit vague cos not sure how safe with poss jw's seeing as friends and parents still jw's and im not d'sd or df'd just stopped going.probably being paranoid.wonder why?was brought up jw did 'bad things' in teens whilst pioneering felt sick with guilt then got doubts started hanging with worldlys got grassed up by my sis for doing drugs but manage to avoid ds/da and left fairly quietly.

  i live in birmingham england have been my own man for over two years but after the initial great im free feeling i guess im a bit flat now.

  The New Kids Book Release; Letter Ideas.

  i think that it would be a good idea to give a copy of that picture of armageddon to any letters that you send to any politicians, legal court cases, whatever the case may be.. the picture is absolutley disgusting, and shows blatant mind control.

  a copy of that in with a letter to any politician would wake them the hell up as to what kind of cult this is!

  maybe a follow-up letter with the picture enclosed?

  Reminds me of the Paradise Lost book...oh how I hated that book. There was another book (it might have been the paradise lost also) that had on the inside jacket of people been tortured; looked like they were in hell...nice things to look at being 4-5 years old. It scared me something terrible...

  BTW what is the name of this "new treasure?"

  i just wanted to let you know that we recieved the judgment today and we won!!!!!

  i will get my babies back this sunday.

  i have just had a huge load taken off my shoulders.

  Ohhhhhhh...this is such wonderful news!!!! I'm so happy for you and the babies...I'm curious as to what the judge had to say and what visitation he has (if any) given to the grandparents... Its nice to hear about a happy ending!

  well today was a very trying day in court.

  megans parents have completely snowballed the guardian ad lietem.

  he did state however that he had not had the opportunity to talk to all parties involved and that his descision to recomend megans parents could be changed by the testimony over the next couple of days.

  Sex in the New Book "Learn from the Great Teacher"

  i just obtained a copy of one of the new releases from the summer jw district conventions, learn from the great teacher.

  this book is oriented towards children, and frankly, is a stereotypical piece of propaganda from the "faithful and discreet slave".

  in some ways the book is incredibly revealing, since it has to break down a number of ridiculous jw teachings into a form that even jw children can swallow, and when those teachings are put into simplest form their ridiculousness is evident to everyone but small children and stereotypically braindead jws.

  Alan, is this an updated version of the older pink covered "Great Teacher" book from the 60's-70's? I faintly remember the contents of it...but that it was the first book my mom studied with us kids aimed at kids...Thanks! Love your comments!

  Oh that is hilarious! I'm getting back memories of my teenage years having the weekly study of the "Your Youth" book with my mom and another sister in the congregation. Ugh! Course, my breasts are now "leaning towers" since having two children. LOL

  new rules concerning disfellowshipping/ disassociating after you have stopp

  hi everyone i have just joined this forum and wondered if anyone else has heard of the rule that if you are inactive, which i have been for the last 4-5 years, that they have a new rule of you either become active again or you have to disassociate yourself, or they can disfellowship you?

  is this correct, and does anyone know if there is a time limit that you can be disfellowshipped say up to 5 years after you stop going to meetings?

  Blondie... great quotes! It explains alot to me about how my mother treats my sister. My sister has been inactive for about 4 years now. My mother (a devoted JW for over 30 years) seems to run hot and cold with her. Over the years she has "marked" her in the congregation and says that she has nothing in common nor have anything to do or discuss with my sister...and then some time will pass by and Mom will start "dropping by", wanting to have a regular chit chat and act like nothings wrong. A few months back, I was once again pleading with my mother to speak and associate with my sister...bringing up different topics (UN scandal, child molestation) in between. Of course, in usual fashion, she defended the Society hands down and told me she had nothing what so ever to discuss with my sister (again). Then about the middle of March, she started showing up again at my sister's house and the whole month of April she was just as kind as could be...I was a bit puzzled until my sister reminded me of "its Memorial time" She does this every year; with the invite and dinner. Its such a sick cycle; a rollercoaster ride of emotions for my sis. But now I understand why my Mom acts this way; she's keeps getting "new and different light" from them and flip-flops back and forth like fish out of water. But, things are coming to a head...

  BTW...the reason my mother still talks to me is that I was never baptized as a witness. My mother says that I never had Jah's faith & love in my heart; and that I am just another "worldly person" to her but I am her daughter too. Nice, eh?

  Can't ya just feel the love flowing?!

  BTW...love your WT and book study reviews...keeps me up on what "spiritual food" mom's getting and where her mentality is. Her actions go right with it.

  can anyone tell me the specific name and about a book that came out a few years ago, i guess at a convention about the jw's history?

  i think it starts out as "jehovah's witnesses and something, something" its a big green book...thats all the info i have on it.

  I have been coming here for many months now; absorbing all the wonderful info given and reading Ray Franz's books, but I have never posted before. Can anyone tell me the specific name and about a book that came out a few years ago, I guess at a convention about the JW's history? I think it starts out as "Jehovah's Witnesses and something, something" Its a big green book...thats all the info I have on it. I have been helping my sister (baptized but inactive) break free of the "borg". Our mother though is a "devoted JW" and pulled this book out yesterday for info on questions my sister was posing to her. Thanks...this forum has been so helpful with answering questions I've had for many years; it means alot to know that I'm not the only one out there.
