my middle brother called me a couple of hours ago.
our youngest brother, josh, who was 38, was found by his friends in his apartment.

When I got the news of my brother's suicide it had no real affect on me at all as we had no relationship to speak of. I acknowledged the unfortunate circumstances and went about my day having suffered no loss.
so i'm sure a good number of us saw the chart that i believe the poster splash put on another thread of figures since 1990 regarding how many baptized and % of increase each year .
i started analyzing it ( and i know some referred to it briefly on the other thread ) and guessing of reasons the % of increase didn't match the number of newly baptized.
and of course common sense tells us that either jw's leave the cult each year through death, fading into inactivity, or getting dfed.

Besides, as an uncircumcised, unnamed infant it had not as yet developed any personality pattern or consciousness so as to appreciate life. Then again, Bath-sheba could have been stoned to death for her adultery, in which case the unborn child would also have perished. However, as previously noted in The Watchtower, David was shown mercy because of the Kingdom covenant, which Jehovah had made with him. Nevertheless, to drive home the fact of Jehovah’s displeasure he let the child die, which was a very severe blow to King David. hi, i just joined the board and wanted to present myself.. i'm active, in fact very active in congregation activities serving "where the need is great" in a foreign language congregation somewhere in western europe.
as a young brother, i'm seen as an example as i'm doing all a good witness should do.. i had doubts years ago but i decided just to ignore them and move to another congregation to preach more.
that worked for some years but i'm now at the exact same point.
I need time to think.
That is precisely what they don't want you to have. They want you active, zealous, go, go, GO all the time... busy in the work of the lord so you don't have time to entertain your doubts, ponder the inconsistencies, identify the contradictions and start putting the pieces together. It is, therefore, vital that you MAKE THAT TIME HAPPEN.
Someone on this forum once identified the Watchtower organization as a loveless recruitment machine. Giving yourself time to think will help you see past the glossy veneer (the polished outside of the cup) and see the machine for what it really is.
Welcome to the forum. Your journey will be rough but you will come out the other side stronger and happier.
