If god wrote this:
New International Version - James 4:17
"If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them."
... then yes, he can sin.
reading this and it made me think, god cannot do everything.
god is holy and he cannot.
sin.

one thing i like to do to test a theory is to take things to extremes or to their logical conclusion to see if the premises still hold.
very often, a claim that seems to make sense at a superficial level falls apart when you start to stretch it a little.. so let's play a game.. suppose the 2nd amendment is valid, that some "well regulated militia" really is necessary to hold the government to account.. obviously when this was drafted the government had access to the weapons of it's day which would be muskets!
so muskets all round.
but thanks to the excellent health care on this site iam on the road to recovery, and can now fully appreciate what a gloriouse thing it is to be free from the w.t and savor approaching spring in all its beauty, ....however i am not sure i am ready for debating on all the boards many heavy threads about gods existence and evolution .. anybody else feal the same?
" tis a gift to be simple, tis a gift to be free, tis a gift to wake up and breath the morning air, and tis a gift to each day walk on the path we want to be....." .
the rebel.
Let those with a thirst for debates have their debates. I've never had the desire to beat a topic to death no matter how right I think I am. Granted, I'll hang in the game long enough to make my position clear, but after a couple of go-rounds I'm perfectly content to let the opposing side run along.
For some it's a blood sport. Not for me.
Your lyric is perfect:
they are doing it again.. a new group trying to boost membership is adding people without permission.. "ex-jehovah's witnesses aka behind the veil of jw.org" added me this afternoon.
they were bragging about how quickly they grew to over 2000 members.
i quickly exited the group.
Interesting.
I joined that group voluntarily a few weeks ago. Since then, I have noticed this Tim Nasson character is very self-promoting. If he really pulled a stunt like you just described, I'll be leaving his group too.
Hope he didn't screw you up too much.
ok so a car pulls up to the house and 3 eldurrs from my dads congo come up.
they come in and have thee nerve to ask me to step out so they can speak to pops!!!!
this is the good part.....pops says...and i quote " whatever needs to be said..can be said in front of my son".
Wow! When visiting an old man the elders couldn't slow down a notch and at least TRY to mimic socially acceptable behavior, care, concern... anything? Did they try to encourage him? Read him a scripture? Offer a prayer?
Or was it all, "You have a nice house and car. You must be able to give more money"?
as a jehovah's witness:.
two things finally struck me:.
1. i was really in a grown up kindergarten and .
hadn't seen this site before, i thought i'd share it:.
http://www.evilbible.com/.
a very close friend of mine has gotten his letter.
although he was planning to leave willingly, he told me that he can't help but feel a sense of being stabbed in the back by a bunch of self righteous traitors.
he gave tours for years, always telling the visitors "this is the best way of life, i would never change anything here and i'll never regret making this decision to come here.
dear friends:.
i imagine by now we old timers have adjusted to the fact that we are getting older and, one day, will make our exit.
are your "senior moments" ever a cause for worry to you?
I JUST went to the store to buy a few items, one of them being milk. I collected a few other items and then I remembered I needed milk so I went to the dairy isle and grabbed a gallon.......
..... and set it right next to the other gallon of milk in my cart.
