It serves you right, sunshine.

lol @ pussycat.
.
the society says it is easy to deceive ourselves.in fact,it may be very difficult to give up or even question deeply cherished opinions.why?becuse we become emotionally attached to our views.. then we deceive ourselves by rationalizing--by manufacturing reasons to justify what are really mistaken and misleading beliefs.. now notice how the society explains this.---one indication that we may have fallen prey to this kind of self-deception is if we find ourselves becoming angry when our beliefs are challenged.. now notice what comes next.--instead of getting angry,it is wise to keep an open mind and " carefully listen"to what others have to say---even when we feel sure that our opinion is right.. according to this counsel, are they deceiving themselves?.
blueblades
On many occassions, the Society has stabbed itself in the back.
I never cease to be amazed at this.
...on the walls of the wbts's headquarters?.
not that i'm advocating anything illegal or immoral, this is purely hypothetical.. but i've recently had an urge to paint these words on the wall of the org's main building:.
mene mene tekel and parsin.
DESIRE
I don't know why
.
is the wtbts publications free in your respective countries or is there still a posted charge for it?.
i know us, canada, france and the land down under are free.....not exactly free they cost you your life but you know what i mean.
It is free here, and its a good job.... I know somebody that signals their interest to get the mags.... then simply takes them to the recycle plant for cash, lol
Thanks for the happy b/day, by the way

Funny, the guys that really need free literature in the 3rd world have to pay
strange as it seems, the happiest day i remember of in my entire life as a jehovahs witness happened on the opening day of a week long district assembly in california when i was a young teenager.
three things came together that day to give me a short glimpse of authentic happiness.
the first was that my parents decided i was old enough to give me just a tiny bit more freedom and allow me to sit where i wanted, to do volunteer work if i wanted, and even gave me a few dollars for meals.
Hi Skipper,
To be honest, when a thread is this long in size, I don't bother reading it. Something in my brain tells my eyes to stop absorbing information, and just scroll to the bottom for the punchline. However, on this occassion, I read the whole post !
It was great. I look forward to your next post, my friend.
As regards your question, I think I am a lot happier than when I was a JW. Yet, like you, only at 20mph. I look forward to your next post with interest.
Hi Sens !
Great to have you with us, my friend.
Please, no need to feel isolated now, we are all in the same boat.
As regards the UN, try here for info.

Welcome again to the board, my friend.
the equation: voluntary workforce + minimal publication costs + minimal building costs + sweet crazy money - charity involvement = $????.
i am seeking factual evidence or documented information on the watchtower society's accumulated financial wealth, which they apparently just seem to be sitting on.
i have a jw coworker (a good guy) whose "kryptonite" may just prove to be his curiosity concerning the wbts's big fat juicy hoard of cash.
Hi
Try these links.

And you could try www.freeminds.org , or http://watchtower.observer.org
Great sites, great info.
in this series i hope to discuss some common verses used by the watchtower to "disprove" the trinity and deity of the lord jesus christ.
the first one is 1 corinthians 8:6: .
"but to us there is but one god, the father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one lord jesus christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Yes, but does it really matter ?
You cant prove anything in the Bible. One verse is just as easily backed up as the next is made exempt !
But if it keeps you happy, go for it man. Hi Ho Silver.
