It wasn't a Racial Thing...Really
by Yerusalyim inthis has been on my mind for a while, and not really jw related, but i wanted to share anyhow.. back in 5th grade (oh so many years ago, right at about 30 years, close to that) anyhow...i had a friend named alvin.
alvin was black...that never seemed to be an issue for us.
however, one day in late spring, alvin and i were walking home together.

If I was still a Dubya today, I would :
- Be struggling to makes any kind of living through a cleaning career
- Still be feeling guilty for never doing enough
- Still be braindead
- Still be looking for 'little sister perfect'
- Still be taking shit from people at the hall
- My idea of fun would be just the same as today in fact; I was a badass lol
- I could not have achieved half the things I have today If I was still a slave to the Watchtower.

i almost believed them.

by cruzanheart inso here i was this evening, reading the old familiar matthew 24 with the kids before bedtime, but i was reading out of our very nice contemporary parallel new testament, specifically the message version, and i had this sudden realization: jesus didn't give us a really complicated, mysterious prophecy that had different types and antitypes -- he was simply continuing his original message (love your neighbor, love god).
remember verse 12 about the love of the many cooling off?
the verse right after that talks about enduring to the end.

Jesus is the way,he is the truth.Jesus said you will be followers of me(Jesus)His witnesses...not Jehovah's. The bible has Jesus as a very good,loving ,forgiving man.I have no problem following Jesus steps. Jesus didn't talk about making a religion,yes he said be with fellow believers but no where does it talk about a religion.
You know, I used to have that philosophy. Until I invited Jesus into my life, and it went AWOL . Shame on me if it is the case and you do have to invite him in your life etc, but for now, I think it's bollocks.
