  The PO and CO visit me....new light!!??

  i am just going to have to start keeping my front door closed.

  today, i had it open, and there was no way to pretend i wasn't home when the two 'brothers' rang my door bell.

  actually, they had been by last saturday, too, but the door was closed that day, and i didn't answer it.

  They did say some interesting things though during the course of their visit. The PO said that although the WT used to proclaim 'Christendom' as the major part of Babylon the Great, that has changed, and now it is Islam, since they now outnumber Christendom worldwide. He stressed the terrorist angle as being the impetus for the political powers to turn on religion,

  This thought parrallels with what Bethel leader Ciro Aucilino said at a talk a few months after september 11. He told us that MAYBE it is ISLAM we should be looking out for.

  as some of you may know, i came these boards quite some time ago due to my close connection to a jehovah's witness.

  i watched as he struggled and watched as he left the organization.

  to explain him, he is ~out~ physically, but still somewhat ~in~ mentally.

  Not that sad when you think about it.

  We were all victims of this insane religious asylum at one point in our lives. There is no shame in being caught up in something If you are unaware of the facts, but If you are aware of true facts that is the height of lemminghood.

  Place yourself in his shoes. It is only when we are free that we can look back on these things in hindsight, no longer afraid of disney style spiritual stories.

  Help this guy out of the Watchtower, only then can he have peace.

  What's your ideal scenario for the fall of the WTBTS?

  i've seen a few posts where someone states that they want the org to "go to hell" or "burn in hell".

  the org has always had a "likely" chain of events for the armegeddon, you know, babylon the great being destroyed and by the wild beast and the the wild beast turning on the witnesses, the start of the great tribulation, armegeddon, and then the thousand year reign (or something like that).

  so... what would you like to see happen to the org?

  "Should religion be funded?"

  a few months back i was at my girlfriend's placed when i noticed a copy of the watchtower on her dining table.

  if i remember correctly, the picture on the front cover was that of a donations bowl being passed from one hand to another, with the title being something along the lines of "religion : should it be funded?

  " i didn't read the article (or any other part of that damned magazine for that matter), but i'm guessing that the following may have came up in that article in one way or another:.

  Religion should be funded if it is for the good of the people. The Watchtower is not for the good of the people, so it should not be funded.

  An interesting fact concerning Watchtower funding :

  Europe and America gets all literature 'without charge', yet unknown to many those in Africa have still got to pay !

  Who needs free literature the most ??!?!

  dude, and i apologize for saying this, but your avatar looks exactly like my father, a dub so devout he refuses to "embrace" me on the extremely rare occasions that we meet.

  perhaps the resemblance isn't as severe as i think -- but shrunk down in a tiny picture, i see my father glaring at me as i sludge along with all of the other dogs on this board, returning to their vomit.

  what's really strange is, i find much of what you write to be sensible.

  Brilliant. Thanks for bring that out, almost on par with the legendary :

  "When persons are in great danger from a source that they do not suspect or are being misled by those they consider their friends, is it an unkindness to warn them? They may prefer not to believe the warning. They may even resent it. But does that free one from the moral responsibility to give that warning?"
