I think it is rather great that you shopping for a Christmas tree - not sad at all!! I remember when I bought my first: it was a small one: then the next year or so it got bigger and bigger with everything on the tree!! it was great fun.
Cannot use my tree this year: it got stolen out of our storage area: so I am just going to buy a tiny one!! and some really nice good quality decorations for around the house.

i love fireworks even now, so imagine how i was when i was a little boy.. .
i celebrated bonfire night until i was 7. and then i didn't.. .
my parents had become jehovah's witnesses, and realized that bonfire night was wrong.. .
yes - happy bonfire night - here in South Africa we have guy fox: also when little it was really sad that we had to stay indoors while everyone else had fun - but not anymore (not that I let off firecrackers - but do not have to feel guilty)

i used to be an elder for more than 20 years .
i have successfully faded with my wife and children.
Welcome welcome - like the others on this site - I am also interested in an elder leaving: and leaving with his wife.
What can you expect when you are to the wedding. I think they will greet you but they will not ask you anything - they are too scared! so they will talk about the weather / sports / etc: so enjoy the food and drink!
been out now for 10 yrs but life is a mess.

why shouldn't i consider going back?.
Do not be scared to STAY OUT: many persons want to go back because they still think it is the truth: do yourself a favour and read Coc: (do not be scared) you might want to go back because it is too easy as many has said: too easy for THEM to think for you. it is time to THINK for YOURSELF: why don't you try another church if you want to: see how they teach about Jesus: once again I say do NOT BE SCARED: of the outside world: it has so much to offer.
But do NOT GO BACK - my last word on this.
as i am typing this post i am constantly looking over my shoulder to see if anybody is at my bedroom door lol guys i know i am stuck in a a cult.

But now you know "cult" mind will come into play if anyone knows how you feel - so if you cannot leave: as you still staying at home: just take it easy and enjoy this board - lots of us to encourgae you: read the books that are recommended (if you can hide them away from your parents)
Thank goodness you woke up early in life: life no scared by being in for sooooo long.

i'm a 17 year old from scotland.
can i just say this site is absolutely brilliant.
finally found people with open minds and free thought that doesn't just consist of "well the wt told me this so it must be right".. my story is that i'm just like any other child of a jw...brought up into a life of indoctrination where "the world's" thinking is automatically wrong.. that is until i was 14 - a light turned on in my head.
