so i'm back on here after being away for years.
i joined back up to vent about problems i was having with family but i thought i'd share a good experience i had on here too.. .
my old congregation was on one corner of a city block that was primarily owned by the local community college.
It just shows us / all of us on here - just how our psyche is effected. No one will understand unless they were jw's.
Years ago I put out a cig by their front door - stupid but it felt good - they next thing we know (it was my daughter and myself) they put up a fence right around the hall - so no one could get in - unless it was meeting nights / days and the gates would open up.
ok, i'll admit it...i am weak.... as everyone knows, the pressure to "pioneer" during "the most momentous, awesome, amazing, centenary anniversay of jesus invisble kigdom rule, & distribute tracts about a dodgy website" campaign is very strong at the moment.... also, many will have read my threads about the extreme views and expectations in our cong for "all appointed men to pioneer" etc..... every elder and ms and their families have been announced as pioneering....i mean everyone's name was read out except mine..... i was not going to do it, as i do not believe anyone should be forced...(and of course its the last thing on earth i would rather do anyway since learning ttatt).
but i am not quite ready to make the break yet, so i realised that i would stand out more if i didnt put in a form to pioneer.
yes it would make me more conspicious, and make fading harder to do...it would bring more heat on me if i didnt pioneer.. so i gave in and submitted a form.... now, of course, i'm only going to make sure i'm seen at the key field service groups etc...but then go and do something more interesting...like count blades of grass..... ahh....i feel hypocritical to myself now......
You don't even need need to go out - just hand in your hours at the end of the month / with all the "placements" you did.
If you do need to join the group / you can say to your partner that you can only do 1 hour that day!
I remember that I was so short of time: that I wrote letters: while doing this I was watching tv etc etc / but was still "in" so felt quite quilty.
As long as you don't feel guilty!! if you bluff your way thru the field service.

Yes what a waste of a good life they can have: that they waste their time in going to all the meetings: waste that they turn against their own flesh and blood - but at this stage of my life I feel nothing for them.
this is not meant to be a slag off the bible thread.. i had a question asked me the other day and it was: 'do you live by anything from the bible?'.
i had to think about that one because i was force grown in the filthy, disgusting cult of the paedophile loving watchtower(r).. you know what?
i really don't know if i just naturally am a great bloke or if any 'nice' bits in the bible influenced me......or has western culture been influenced by the bible for good and bad?.

I did the bible thing when I left: churches etc: went into healing stones: budda: angles: East way of thinking: meditation: said there is no right or no wrong way of living: now left with the thought that there is no god: so live in the moment.
No bible stuff!!

To tell you the honest truth - I would not want to sit there and listen to any "tunes" from the song book - it would be evil!!! but in saying that "Keep your eyes on the prize was my dad's favourite" and when I was still in I always had a little cry (thank goodness he did not get babtized before he died) (he really was holding back from that religion) but still would not like to hear any of that music again.
But in keeping with your theme - then it has to be done.

in south africa we have mandela day on the 18th of july - it was his birday and people in sa celebrate it by spending at least 67 minutes helping someone or helping a cause.
this year, my friends and i are helping out a horse sactuary in desperate need of food for their animals.
we are ording in hay, shandy chubes and hay presto.
Afikanman - that is so called "love" they are quite happy if the sister has no way of making money to live - but they will not "dip" in the goldern pot of "dedicated" money to jah to help her.

I am her mother (wonderful that we are both out!) fantastic relashionship we have: we can discuss anything together: last year we both protested outside the assembly: (it was just the 2 of us) hah great fun....anyway getting back to 67 min in South Africa: many many people set aside this time (and not only 67 min) to give a helping hand in honor of Mandela.
Last time most people at our work went to a state hospital to clean up: and it sure needed a clean. Some knit for the poor and cold: and some just do not do anything: which is fine because everyone has their own idea on this country and how it is being run: and what the future is for South Africa...but Mandela was one a kind: so in that respect many people put aside their differences to honor him and him alone by helping out.

at the meeting the other night, the elder who had to read the announcements, which included the $$ info for the new donation arrangement seemed downright disgusted as he read the announcements and asked for the vote.
he said, "well, here is another organizational change" as he read the letter about the discontinuation of the 2nd meeting during co visit.
then after they voted, he said if you have any questions ask this other elder as if he wanted nothing to do with it.

after almost 40 years of being shunned by close family members, it never gets easier.
my own mother is under the spell of the "organization" and won't even write to me.
for a long time i sent her things - cards, news articles of interest, jokes, etc - i finally gave up.
yep understand!! my little sister (left the truth but not DF) phoned me this morning to let me know that my mom's best friend died: she was 88. I got a little sad / or a moment or two because my mom could have turned to me or had me in her life: but shunned for 10 years now.
Did tell on another post that my bif sister (elders wife) asked my little sister for help from me (money) to have my mom put into a old age home. Said I would if she asked me face to face: so no that did not happen: so I did not help.
Would be lovely to sue / sue / sue but goodness all the paper work that would go into that / all the time / and who know especially in South Africa how long that would take.
