I've tasted only the OREO (hydrox is unknown here) and find them good for the trash.

Did this web-site help you leave the organization?
by ecuador injust curious, what percentage of people here actually left the jw org because of this site or similar sites?
do these sites really help people to get out?

Country_Woman
yes,it did help: it gave me peace of mind when I did the "fade-away" act.
The fact that I did fade away, was due to Viv (my daughter): she showed me all the disturbing facts she found on the internet (including this side) and did'nt leave me alone....

Who Cares About You, REALLY?
by minimus insince you've left the witnesses, does anyone really care for you???
?
-
Country_Woman
I guess my daughter (I'm sure) - a very dear old friend and maybe 2 or three others...
and really care ? there are a few on this board I care for - but there's a lot of water between us - so that's talk for the most part....
--
In fact I did'nt loose anyone while leaving the borg: I regained a lot of the family (neither were in - only Viv and me by the time)

Most of the time I don't give reactions, but given the amount of reactions on this topic, a lot of people do find your question important.
What is your favorite ice cream topping?
whipped cream with chocolat sauce and advocaat (some sort of egg liquor)

90 years ago today...
by sir82 in...in the 11th our of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, world war i ended.. the armistice was signed at approximately 5 am that day, but was not to go into effect until 11 am.
after more than 4 years of slaughter, after over 8 million military deaths (and more than 6 million civilains killed) and 21 million + wounded, senseless battles continued to be fought for 6 additional hours.
men were after glory, revenge, under orders from likely insane commanders, a myriad of reasons.

by Rabbit in...if he exists, of course.. i'm so glad i simply don't care about religeous(sp) stuff anymore.. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081109/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_israel_brawling_monks/print;_ylt=avlmgpj2s3zkcv59pufda_quewgf.
monks brawl at christian holy site in jerusalemby matti friedman, associated press writer matti friedman, associated press writer2 hrs 5 mins agojerusalem israeli police rushed into one of christianity's holiest churches sunday and arrested two clergyman after an argument between monks erupted into a brawl next to the site of jesus' tomb.. the clash between armenian and greek orthodox monks broke out in the church of the holy sepulcher, revered as the site of jesus' crucifixion, burial and resurrection.. the brawling began during a procession of armenian clergymen commemorating the 4th-century discovery of the cross believed to have been used to crucify jesus.. the greeks objected to the march without one of their monks present, fearing that otherwise, the procession would subvert their own claim to the edicule the ancient structure built on what is believed to be the tomb of jesus and give the armenians a claim to the site.. the armenians refused, and when they tried to march the greek orthodox monks blocked their way, sparking the brawl.. police spokesman micky rosenfeld said police were forced to intervene after fighting was reported.
they arrested two monks, one from each side, he said.. a bearded armenian monk in a red-and-pink robe and a black-clad greek orthodox monk with a bloody gash on his forehead were both taken away in handcuffs after scuffling with dozens of riot police.. six christian sects divide control of the ancient church.

MY PROJECT IS (FINALLY) FINISHED!
by Mary infor those of you who are interested, the project i've been working on for the last few months is finally finished.
i originally did a thread about it back in april: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/156497/1.ashx.
it seems that alot of us still have family members in the religion and have not infrequent arguments with them about some of the beliefs and practices.

Country_Woman
Mary, that was a hell of a project.
Is it possible to send it as a pdf file ? in that case, I will pm my e-mail as well.
To bad, it is only in English - now I have to translate it .

Learning As We Go....
by Farkel ineveryone has something to teach us.
station in life, wealth, position, power, or lack of all of that, everyone has something to teach us.
even the watchtower society, and the homeless and the druggies.

Farkel, thanks for telling us.
You are right "you never are to old to learn" and you may learn from each experience.
besides that, glad you have that friend.

Do you "think" that JW's and Born-Agains are "addicted" to religion?
by booker-t ini must admit i never really thought of religion as an addiction until i was reading a story about a girl that was a strict "pentacoastal" and followed all of the rules of the church until she became fed up with it all and left.
and then she went to an even "stricter" church until her therapist told her that going from church to church is like a new "high".
and when you think of some of the lingo that jw's and born agains use it might just as well be considered an addiction.
-
Country_Woman
it can be an addiction.
Like the Romans (or the early communists not so long ago) said thousand of years ago: religion is opium for the people - you cab get hooked.
