(((Dana & kids))))
I went through the same a copple of months ago.
It is very difficult - but life goes on - after a (long) while the pain is lessening, and you will remember her with all the fine memories you have.
My sympathy.

Sometimes, it just ain't any fun...
by safe4kids ini took my kids on a vacation to disney world...their dream vacation, actually, although it didn't turn out that way.
midway through we get a call that their grandmother (the real one, who was never a dub and who hasn't ever turned her back on the kids or on me even thru my divorce from her son, unlike my own jw mother) is in serious condition at the hospital.
we spent one of our 'vacation' days sitting in a hospital icu waiting room, timing our 15 minute visits so that we could see her, and throughout it all the kids were troopers.

(((Margy)))
I wish you all the strenght you need.
----
8 months ago, my mother died - and I mis her every day - it was the first time that members of my family went to the Hall. (from my family, I was the only JW - my mother passed away and my daughter DF-d)
They - the elder wo did the talking - made a capital mistake: telling us that my mothers family (i.o.w. my brothers and sister) were worse then a concentration camp during WW2.
We were all baffled.
My sister wrote this elder a letter telling him that this was something he should never say.
He had the guts to tell us that he was serious.
Two months later I spoke to him and he told me that "he wanted me to visit the Hall again" He was afraid that my daughter used her influence on me to let me drift away.... I told him that I did'nt need my daughter for that. He did a fine job himself....
Thank goodness, at the cemetary there where no JW's invited (except personal friends from my mother) and everything on the cemetary went the way it should be. -

What if JWs had never been part of your life......?
by Scully inprisca's topic about personal responsibility vs blaming the jws (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/56286/824979/post.ashx#824979) got me to thinking..... where do you think you'd be if the jws and the wts had never been part of your life?how would your life be different from what it is now?what do you think you might have accomplished or done differently without the encumberances of the jws in your life?what kind of relationship would you have with your family?who would you be?.
there are no right or wrong answers, but think about those what-i-want-to-be-when-i-grow-up ideas you had as children and whether those dreams could have become a reality.. .
love, scully

I think that there would be no big changes: I was 50+ and settled when we got involved.
I'm in the same job now as I was then.
Same house - same friends.
The "friends" in the org are no real friends (just acquintancies).
Today I know more about religion then 8 years ago - and that's fine.
Being in the org and out, left me with a slight disappointment.
Like dreams that are not fulfilled....
There was a really change (due to the org.)in Viv's life: she quitted her accountancy study on high school and went to university for a historical study.
She should have finished her study by now - having a good job - but hell, now she will get a title.... -

Vegemite vs. Marmite
by RAYZORBLADE inok folks!.
you think you've got controversy in a nutshell, eh?.
well, you're wrong!.

I remember the first time I tried Marmite: 1 part Marmite - 4 parts butter.
I could eat it - but did not enjoy it.
Think there is much tastier food. -

C.T. Russell's grave vandalized
by RR ini attended a week long [six day] bible student convention in johnstown, pa, just outside of pittsburgh, there was a sister from romania who wanted to visit pastor russell's grave, so we drove the 2 hours up there, the last time i was there was in 1999.
well, apparently russell'sgrave was vandalized, on the front and back of the tombstone there are these photos of russell embedded into the granite, someone decided to keep a momento and ripped them off, so there's just a hole where the pictures were.
no respect for the dead, oh well.

I don't know who vandalized his grave, but I do know that lots of Jewish graves are vandalized by Neo Nazi's in Europe - painting swastika's aso.
I am not sure but once I read that Hitler has no grave - thus preventing both: vandalism and making it a monument for Neo Nazi's. -

A question for the ladies?????
by Maverick ini have noticed that when the ladies post pictures of "hunks" these guys have no body hair.
when i was a gymnast many of the guys would cut their hair real short and shave their chests and stomachs and oil them to get a better, more defined look.
i always thought chest hair was "manly" so i never did it.

Weird Beliefs from JWs
by Yizuman inwho has heard some really far out, off the wall, el whacko beliefs from jws over the years??.
here's an example....yesterday a couple of jehopeless witlesses told me that riding my bicycle was the doings of the devil because, since a bicycle can't stand up by itself, it's impossible to ride one without the devil holding you up.
does anybody know what bible verse they use to support this?

Like we are saying here:
There are human beings and there are bicycle-bells
(the latter only make noise)
From all the ridiculous things I ever heard about Jehopeless Witlesses this is the worst. -

What Made You Leave The "Truth"? Was It False Prophecy, People, Blood, etc.
by minimus injw's like to believe that people who leave the organization do it for selfish reasons or due to impatience and not "waiting on jehovah".
there's a variety of reasons for persons making the decision and saying, "that's it!
i'm not doing this anymore".

it was like building a tower with Lego-blocs.
Not 1 single issue but all together.
The "Slave", the blood, the behaviour and the shunning to my daughter + all what Viv showed me.
