  At what age should a person loss their drivers licence?

  in my area, in the last year, there has been six people killed in three separate accidents by someone over the age of 70. in two cases, the elderly people lived while the other drivers did not.

  in one case the elderly person was killed, as well as the people they hit.

  of the six people killed, two were children under the age of five.

  drivers licence here is connected to our age: at 70 you have to take a medical test which will be re-done at least each 5 years or earlier when doctors are expecting something is coming up - say each year.

  that could be eye-sight, hearings, hart-failing or what ever you can think of.

  Still that ain't guaranteed no accidents : I know of lots of accidents (hart failure) in which YOUNG drivers were involved.

  as far as "behaviour" is involved: most accidents here are caused by young drivers : 18-24........

  If you celebrate Christmas, do you belief in Christ?

  i celebrate christmas each year and do no consider myself a christian in any way.

  my spouse does not either and we are raising our son to be non-christian.

  so why do i celebrate christmas, because i can.

  The celebration of X-mas (or Christmas) has nothing to do with religion - at least, not today with all the presents and fun-figures around....

  Even in non-Christian parts of the world, people are enjoying Christmas (like in Japan -shinto religion)

  So, you can take part of a huge family celebration without being a christian.

  how do you feel about blood now?

  the thought of taking a blood transfusion still gives me the creeps... but now i know that i'd take one if my life was on the line.

  i'm thinking about giving blood too.

  I have given blood - some years ago, stopped giving: the last time it started bleeding again .....after I left the building

  As for receiving - I prefer to get a substitute. I won't receive transplants (but that's what i am thinking now, I am not sure if I change my mind in case of an emergency but I don't think so)

  The benefit of JWD

  i know i have made comments about the benefits of jwd but i have some thoughts about this.. for the person who is having doubts and is looking for some confirmation or information jwd provides a wealth of both.

  and if it isn't posted here on the board someone usually has a link to answer questions.

  for those who have been hurt by the shunning policy or been abused in some way jwd offers wonderful people who understand because they have "been there" too.. for those who are recently out of the wts and are trying to build a new life there are many to encourage and support them.. even those of us who have been here and out of the wts for a long time there is encouragement and friendship.. for those who love a good debate, there is usually a willing jw to try to take them on.. there are some great sites on the internet that provide information.

  I've never viewed the Fluff threads therapeutic, but I surely enjoy them.

  (and personally I did'nt need therapy: I was'nt long enough in the cult to be brain-washed - I even was at all birthdays in the family - only not "congratulating" )

  For me, reading and posting on this forum is getting more understanding for what a lot of ex dubs are going through (including my daughter Viv)

  Our dog died. :(

  our 15 year old dog died this afternoon..............with assistance from a veterinarian friend of rachel's (princess).

  she was old, sick, and with multiple health issues.

  it was a really hard decision, but the vet really helped ease my mind, by assuring me it was time.

  It takes getting used to, to put them down, but in the end, you do feel better when you realize the pain and suffering they've had. Today, I wish we hadn't waited so long.

  I have made the same mistake before: waiting to long.

  I did'nt made this mistake january this year - but knowing it is the best decision does'nt make it easier for you.

  I am very sorry for you.
