  you know, there are some things phrased that are just so, so....watchtoweresque.

  what are some things you see that remind you of some wt foibles?

  one thing that always cracks me up is when an article or book (or post) uses too many exclamation points.

  "Dangling Carrot"

  did anyone here have that "dangling carrot"( privledges) put in front of them?

  basically the elders demanded you do anything they tell you to do or else you wouldn't recieve that "privledge".

  basically you had to humiliate yourself and act if like a dancing monkey " or else, not this time brother".

  Do You Think That Jehovah's Witnesses Are Basically Good People?

  there's a lot of jw bashing here.

  we've all been affected by negative things because of the organization.

  but do you think that as a group, jehovah's witnesses are bad, or do you think that most of the witnesses that you know are inherently good people??

  Very good point Dedalus. I too have come across and I too am guilty of exactly what you said . This is very common behaviour of the witnesses. It is very very cold hearted.

  i just left the "truth"a couple of months ago, did some sub-contracting work for a brother ( real self-righteous guy), just recieved a phone call from him saying he will no longer be needing my services.

  nothing to do with my work he said, just the way it goes.

  what a wonderful frickin brotherhood, those damn bastards!!!

  I just left the "truth"a couple of months ago, did some sub-contracting work for a brother ( real self-righteous guy), just recieved a phone call from him saying he will no longer be needing my services. Nothing to do with my work he said, just the way it goes. WHAT A WONDERFUL FRICKIN BROTHERHOOD, THOSE DAMN BASTARDS!!! He could care less if he takes food out of mine and my families mouths. Wow they must really have the truth, because the love is so great?!!!

  They are ALL programmed to act and react the exact same way to anything that comes their way. Honestly as long as they remain jw's we'll never know if their good or bad, because basically each and every one of them is the same boring dull self-righteous person. And as long as one is a jw, then they are ALL STUPID LOVELESS BASTARDS!!!!

  How many out here.....

  how many out here know a loved one or know of someone who suffers from depression and it is from being in the borg and never feel you are doing enough.

  my ex wife would always lapse into a few month state of depression right after a visit from the c/o and getting pounded on about f/s hours or not enough studies or not enough pioneers yadda yadda yadda.

  i know with my ex that the constant fear of armageddon and feeling inadequate was a depression trigger ready to be pulled at any instant.

  I was so depressed that i was suicidle. Always knowing i could never do enough. Reg pio for 10 yrs, countless public talks, talk every other week in school and service meeting, taking book study and on and on and on and. Until i said about 6 months I have had enough and right now i am the happiest i have ever been . By the way i love the site it is exactly what i needed, and very funny at times too. Thanx.
