  what is the stupidest thing a jw ever told you?

  we all know that they say a lot of stupid things, but what really topped the cake?.

  for me, it was an elder telling me i was progressing really well when my meeting attendance was down and my field service hours were slipping.

  Would you ever visit Bethel?

  you ever been driving, and traffic builds up coming up to an accident?

  human nature being what it is, everyone stops to see the accident.

  of course, by the time we get there, we are so pissed at the traffic, we slow down ourselves to make sure we see what all the fuss was about.. compare that perhaps to seeing the biggest accident of them all, bethel.

  Exactly Euph it is a registerd retirement savings plan. So basically if somone at 25 decided to pay $200/mo into it until they were 60 they would be protected financially esp with a government based plan added to this. So MANY said this is a lack of faith in that if one did this then they don't think new system is coming soon. Funny thing is I know a brother who bought into this stupidity and is now 68 yrs old and has to work until the day he dies.

  1. Smoking pot opens your minds to the demons

  2. Taking out RRSP's is showing a total lack of faith in the new system ( Thank gawd I didn't listen to that one )

  3. You must buy a 4 door vehicle no matter what kind of deal you could have had on a 2 door

  4. Everything in the watchtower is from Jehoavh ( But of course we don't put the Bible and Wt on the same plain, yeah right )

  How Close Do YOU Live To BETHEL?

  ya know, i've had to wonder, since the comment had been posed to me some time ago about various parts of the world, and how close they live to their respective bethels.

  so how close do you live to bethel (of your country)?.

  the reason i ask is, at least around here, the closer you live to bethel, it seems the more spiritual (jw sense of the word) some of our posters are.

  About 20 miles away. I used to live pretty close to it a few years ago. I used to live right in it, so that's pretty close.

  what is the # 1 reason people join the JW's ??? what attracts people ???

  being brought up in the borg, i always envied my friends that did not have to go in service, go to meetings, and waste their weekends away, i have never really been able to understand why someone would join the jw's unless they were born (forced) into it.

  aside from maybe coming from an abusive lifestyle or relationship, or had serious drug/alcohol problems, this i could understand how the religion helped them get back on track.

  so why do people join ???

  What did you think of "Simplification" ???

  i know now what was behind many of the simplification procedures that were adopted at the assemblies over the years.

  the books and food were given away to avoid tax problems.

  but what did you think about it when you were a jw?.
