Does GOD want us to be his friend or have a relationship with him?
by bruh2012 inwt seems to teach both and or make them interchangable------we need to be jehovahs friend.
we need to have a relationship with him as children like a father.. even though there is no bible verses for having a relationship with god, jesus teaches us (was there anyone before jesus) to approach him as father not as some friend.
what bible verses "infer" that we have a relationship with god especially if thats what worshiping him means???.

Jwfacts..
In fact I have been listening to music very seriously since I was about 2 years old.. that was the first time I remember hearing Bach.. immediately followed by John Coltrane. Since that day my taste and need to hear both classical music and Jazz is equally split down the middle.
One of my grand mothers was a concert pianist who I was told accompanied Maria Callas.. and on the other side of the family were 5 great aunt's all in the same violin quintet. I seem to have inherited very strong musical genes and an extremely strong musical memory.I started collecting myself at about 14 years of age and never stopped. All kinds of music was playing 24 hours a day in my home with each family member having their own genre.. and I myself have never stopped listening and playing. I ended up with my own modern Jazz quartet for about 9 years and have always taught music too. This spring I will form a new jazz quartet and be out playing every night.
I have converted all my music to digital format now.. mostly FLAC or OGG as these formats are a dozen times the quality of mp3's and I have them all on 3 terabyte drives so none of it takes up any space and cataloguing and organising it all using the computer is very easy.
I'm never without an mp3 player either and when home Youtube or my studio set up is constantly churning out something.Music is like air for me. It's a language I instantly understood the first time I ever heard and related to very early.. even before I could speak.

Thank you for clarifying the thread Compound.. forgive me if I misunderstood.
I was weand on clssical music (Bach) and Jazz with the likes of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Lester Young, MacOY Tyner.. some of whom were friends of my father. My tastes are extremely eclectic.

talked to wt. conductor about sundays study
by nowwhat? ini said i was concerned that they painted hezekiah as this champion of righteousness and how the article omitted when he paid tribute to assaria by looting the temple when he got scared.
and apparently he had an alliance with egypt, a pagan nation.
he said i was getting boged down with other references and missing the point.

I was told by a posse of elders to basically stop all my research.. and I got an actual warning to NOT share what I found with any of the brothers or sisters in the congregation.
I told them that truth must be shared.. and then nailed them to the wall with a quiver of scriptures. i have not heard another word from them since.
The dishonesty of these people is just incredible.

JW.org to be banned in Russia
by redvip2000 inmy facebook was "lit up" today with all the out cries about the possibility of the organization's website being banned in russia.. as many of you recall this past august a court in russia banned the website and sought to make accessing the website in russia illegal.
well tomorrow the appeal by the org will be heard in court.
if the appeal is denied, jw.org will no longer be available in that part of the world, causing endless lamentations and cries of "persecution", only to bolster the idea that they are truly hated by the world because they are true christians.

Who is attacking? Do you see an alternate view as an attack? That's quite revealing. Residue from your past maybe?
The title of this thread is "Worlds Greatest Music", Not "Worlds Greatest Classical Music." Correct me if I am mistaken but the discussion is not what we listen to personally or what's out favourite music but what is the Worlds Greatest.
I adore classical music. I have a music collection of over 170,000 albums and have been collecting for over 30 years. About a 3rd of it is classical music. I have seen some of the greatest classical performances by some of the greatest musicians on earth. Bach and Mozart feature heavily at the top of my list.
I have also been a professional musician and teacher on and off going on 25 years now of every genre of music.
But sorry in terms of sheer popularity EMINEM kicks most of their behinds.

In sevreal hundred years I'm not sure we will be listening to Beehoven either.. the same way we are not listeing to popular Assyrian, Babylonian or Persian music. I'm sure they had their pop stars and genius composers too.
Even more recently.. do we even remember these folks?

Are Jehovah's Witnesses Scottish?
by RottenRiley inmy experience with jws, often they were very frugal and cheap, willing to use my car in field circus every weekend.
why are jehovah's witnesses so dense and obtuse when it comes to sharing costs and contributing?
has the topic of district convention 'tight-ass cheap-skating' jehovah's witnesses been talked about?

Yes, I think it was very funny because as a Scottish man, I can get away with calling us cheap.
Even if you were not Scottish it's well within your rights to do so.
