i imagine drug addicts have a similar adiction.

you can not imagine life without a fix.

or was it we had addictive personalities?

I feel so similar.. I no longer have the obsessional fascination with the org is up to.. nor in what they are saying, printing, doing or claiming. I no longer obsess over posts here critiquing or analysing them either as I just am not interested any more. It's no longer any part of my life. It means about as much to me as watching paint dry. Zero. I'm so over it.

I can liken it to a relationship that has ended painfully but now I really don't feel a thing for that person any more.

And yes this site was a great aid in weaning me off my Org dependancy and I am very grateful to everyone's contributions for that.

If Jehovah God Really Loved Humans & This Earth How Might He Show It?

As a parent who tells their child not to touch the stove because it's hot and they will get burned, if the child is nonstop reaching for the hot stove everyday to stop the child from ever touching it, they may eventually conclude since they are not listening they won't stop their child next time and after getting burned they won't do it anymore.

And a God allowing 1,400 innocent children in Yorkshire England to be sexually molested and violently gang raped over almost a 10 year period teaches them that they should not do what any more?

4. God has great plans in store for humans, involving life throughout the universe. He knows that people will obey/follow rule books if they know for sure it's from him, but he wants to see how 'good' they are if they feel he does not exist or maybe there is no future accountability, so he is testing the true character of people.

That right there is utter cold cruelty and insanity.. Was not Adam given rules? You mean like a mother abandoning and dumping her helpless new born in a garbage dumpster just to see if it's really a good child and has a nice character?

I agree that we cant let bad groups or organizations turn us away from God.

I agree too.. the God of the Witnesses seems to manage that just fine by himself..

I HAD MY BICYCLE STOLEN!

three months ago i had to stop driving my car.

it wouldn't pass inspection and it would cost about $3k to get it up to par.. well, it's a 98 honda accord with about 179 thousand miles on it, what did i expect?.

.. i decided i would switch to riding a bicycle instead.. it has worked out fairly well.. i put about 10 miles a day on it.

That indeed really sucks Terry, very sorry to hear this story especially when it's one's main mode of transport. I know just has this feels as have had a few nice bikes stolen in my time.

I had a completely hand built Claude Butler Specialised Touring bike get stolen once.. in today's terms it would be maybe a £3,000 bike. I left it inside a public library while I dropped my books off for less then 30 seconds and it was gone. I was utterly gutted.

Your not an idiot at all, these things happen, sadly we have to develop often the painful way the awareness that we are surrounded often by not very honest or nicest of people. Hope you manage to get some kind of replacement soon.

.. first of all, we must recognize what is meant when we say gods visible organization was made strictly or fully theocratic.

the term theocracy means god rule or rule by god.

Do you like the people in the Bible?

the society always speaks about all the wonderful people and characters in the bible.. they always too speak of many of them as being so humble, faithful, loyal, diligent, loving, kind, wise, merciful etc, and worthy of imitation.

also of how god blessed them followed by endless examples and reasons why we today should imitate them.. .

they also speak of how wonderful it would be to meet some of these people in the future 'new system' and have often depicted scenes where the the survivors of armageddon would be gathered around some ancient resurrected faithful asking them questions and listening to their stories of times past.

Interesting to hear who people would like to meet.. but rather then just that I'd like to know peoples feelings good or bad on all those Bible characters.. do you think you would even get on with maby of them? Like them? Make them your friends?

my little boy has decided he wants to be a vegetarian and has been for over a year now.

i fully accepted and supported this.. my view however is no matter what you eat or how you eat it ....beings will die for you to eat.. i have noticed where we live we have the terms " free range" and " ecological".

if affordable i am sure most peoples preferrd option for their own health and the conditions of the animals.. i would say everyone has the right to eat what they want within reason.

I have recently changed to a vegetarian diet for about the last 6 months. For the moment I still have milk, eggs and cheese and dairy products till I can find suitable protein alternatives but all meat has been removed from my shopping lists. Not for ethical reasons though.. just health ones.

I love and feel a great deal towards animals and am sure as time goes on and I learn more how animals are treated in the food industry that my motives will become more ethical and I will cut out eggs and dairy too.

I have to say though since quitting all meat I feel better, sleep better, feel lighter, have more energy, more stable moods and emotions, feel less anger and aggression too. My shopping bill is substantially cheaper as well.
