  Hi all, I've been lurking.........

  hello, i've been lurking for a few months now.

  like many others here i've been through quite a bit lately, and what i've learned (thanks to jwd) is very eye opening to say the least.

  will write my story when i have time.

  I am glad you are happy and out. I do hope that your 6 year old can find new friends and realize that Religious decisions are something that each individual makes as an adult. That adults like Gramma and Grandpa choose their religion and their religion doesn't like people of other religions or people that don't want to be in their religion. I would then show her scriptures on tolerance and love. Then I would make sure she knew that she would not have to become any religion ever unless she decides to as an adult. I would also invite all her school friends over at every possible opportunity because she probably needs some new ones after the cong. split. With time she will see that being non-jw at school is soooo much cooler than being a JW.

  due to the fact there are about 27,000 members of this religion that are known pedophiles, and the information about it is kept in a secret database file, i wonder how many lurking jw's as well as others are aware of the severity of this problem?

  remember, it's 27,000 pedophiles that they know about.

  what about the thousands that don't get caught?

  I know of two. Both by family members that were JW's and neither went to jail.

  It was so sad. One of the girls couldn't come to our sleep overs without a night light because of Post Traumatic Stress. She also couldn't have a pillowfight because her Grandfather had held a pillow over her face when he raped her. He was still in good standing when I found this out. I told my parents and well, it was common knowledge. I had been to this mans house. Dad had always made me stay in the car though. Now I know why.

  The second happened out of state so, I just know the girl and she never elaborates on what really happened.

  ok, crumpets post on the lid of life thread got me thinking.

  when i was a kid and got a cut on my finger my mother would always tell me to suck it.

  which meant i was sucking my own blood, which meant i was eating blood, which meant i was defiling god.

  I had a sudden vision of that beginning scene in Blade where the night club is suddenly raining blood and all the dancers are vampires.

  Honestly though, I am so sorry that happened to you, at a wedding none the less, supposed to be a happy occasion!!

  hello all, just wanted to give an update..... i'm no longer engaged, so that's one less thing that's holding me back from leaving the org.

  don't get me wrong, i do hate we had to end it and i do love her very much.

  this has been quite hard for me.

  Sorry to hear about your breakup. I know it is hard now but it will be immensely freeing later. Easier said than done I know. Perhaps some of the stuff you said to her will eventually sink in but I wouldn't count on it. I wish you the best as you move forward. I found someone in our old hall on here and she is like a surrogate mom to me now. I hope Purps can be the same for you.

  Wow...just had an anxiety attack moments ago...

  this hasn't happened to me in a very long time.

  i was in the kitchen fixing dinner for the kids not really thinking about anything other than dinner..then bamm i was overwhelmed with a panic feel and very bad thoughts that i'd rather not discuss.

  i dropped what i was doing and went into zach's room just to get a bit of peace and recollect myself.

  You know how some people "snaps" and end up going crazy? That is a fear of mine especially when I go through these attacks. You wonder what makes people go off the deep end.

  I think of that often when I have several of them. You are not alone. I keep Passion Flower extract at my desk and at home for just such occasions. Sometimes in the past I have snapped but never killed anyone. Just yelled and hit a few people. Nothing too awful bad. I always wonder if one day it will get worse. Of course that is the anxiety talking. Never ending cycle.

  Panic attacks and Low blood sugar attacks are very similar. I have both. I can tell the difference because I have had them both for so long. I would suggest taking the glucose pill as well just to rule it out. If you don't have one a small cup of orange juice can work as well.

  BEST WISHES and Can I come by for some home made fried chicken? I will wash dishes.

  The intention?? Really?? So if I take blood during surgery without the INTENTION of hurting God, then as a good standing witness I can do so right?

  yeah, I had forgotten it too until Crumpet said something about cutting her lip on another thread and being scared the blood would be swallowed. It is just weird, how that doesn't bother them yet, you can't store your own blood. It is completely unreasonable. You forget how illogical some of the stuff is until something triggers it. Always weirds me out a bit I was ever that ignorant.

  Awww, that is the saddest thing I have heard. (((((( Eclipse ))))))

  I remember looking at my mom when she told me to suck my finger when I cut it waiting for the NO STOP. But nothing except Suck it before it drips on the carpet.

  yesterday i bought a pair of jeans, and i don't take the same size as years ago.

  from 31 inch waist 10 years ago, i buy 33 inch waist jeans now.

  a few years ago, i bought many pairs of jeans, and didn't wear them much, thinking i'd be the same weight all my life....lol.
