tink and i just came back from a weekend in the town we lived in where we got da'ed.
we were getting ready to leave for home yesterday afternoon and her younger brother (not a jw) called to talk to tink with some "news" he heard.
he found out that the elder who spearheaded our ordeal with the jdc during our inquisition, has been having an affair with a sister in the cong we used to attend, for the past two years.
Sounds like that congregations probably has several STD's being passed along. That is just Crazy!!!!

i feel like absolute s*(& after a long conversation with my sister this afternoon.
she's in the org.
and told me that if i won't have a relationship with my parents then she won't have one with me.
Maybe you should try seeing a therapist. Most insurance covers it. I found that it helps to have an unbiased opinion. I was in a similar situation. My husband making my parents and my religion out to be the bad guy and my mother making my husband out to be the bad guy. I was so confused and depressed because I want to please everyone. Going to a therapist was the best thing I ever did. He helped me greatly. He was unbiased. He helped me see who was truthfully on my side and how to handle the negativity being thrown at me. Perphaps the same thing can help you.
I think the card is a great idea as well. A simple card to your parents telling them that you are having a difficult time in your life right now and can't talk to them like you would like to, but that you want them to know that you love them dearly and hope that they feel the same about you. That way if one of them does up and die, they will KNOW that you love them. This will help with the guilt issue a bit and perphaps smooth things over with your sister if you tell her you sent the card.

seriously, if i could get intelligent replies to this thread, rather than hyperactive fulminations, that would be much preferred.. my question is, how do you feel about the decriminalization of recreational drugs?
whatever you feel about the morality of using drugs, and taking as fact that the abuse of drugs is harmful, we're currently spending billions of dollars a year in a losing war on drugs, and in the process creating a whole criminal substructure that thrives on selling smuggled goods.. so here are my suggestions.. 1. allow the sale of recreational drugs to adults, exclusively at licensed and regulated establishments (along the lines of liquor stores).. 2. require that all drugs be carefully labeled with the exact amounts of all active ingredients, as well as a comprehensive list of all inactive ingredients, just as is required of pharamaceuticals.

my girlfriend dragged me into her yoga class.
loved it.. i think the wt said that yoga was bad.. at first i was weary, because i always viewd yoga with being a sin.. but then i realized.... stretching and excercise is not a sin.. .
I love Yoga too. It leaves you feeling energised after a hard day at work. The WTS does consider it a sin, which is why I tell my mom it is a 60 minute stretching class, instead of saying Yoga, the evil word. Yoga is addicitive though, I really hate it when I miss a class.
Special K: You don't do the pretzel stuff until you get into advanced classes. You should try a beginners course. I am the clutziest person I know and I have no balance, but I can do it. I think you would love it!!!

Jayson: I do not support raising taxes, you read my post wrong. What I am saying is that it seems there are more important issues for Mr Bush to focus on than taxes. Like maybe finding Bin Ladin or Bringing in more jobs to the US. If somehow giving $400 back to every couple with a child brings more jobs and I am just missing the connection I am sorry.
And the fact is there are NO jobs for experienced people, hell even general laborers here in TEXTILE land. My father has over 25 years construction experience and a General Contractors license. Nobody is buying houses or hiring anyone with his experience. He keeps getting told he is "Overqualified" for all the lower jobs he applies for. I have another friend who is having to go through a temp agency for barely sporadic work, and he is willing to do any general labor, he isn't afraid of work, it is just with all the textile plants closing down and nothing taking their place, there isn't much left. Wal-mart can only hire So Many. I work for municipalities and due to budget cuts we may have our hours cut here at my work. Everything is in the toilet here. Give it a few more years of all these plants closing and budget cuts with no new business to take the place and the carolinas will just fall off the map.
Maybe I am just bitter because I see so many people around here struggling and there is nothing I can do about it. I want to give everyone a place to work but it is beyond my control. I don't want to see the taxes raised and lowering them is fine, but Bush acts like that makes EVERYTHING BETTER and it just doesn't.
