what is the stupidest thing a jw ever told you?
we all know that they say a lot of stupid things, but what really topped the cake?.
for me, it was an elder telling me i was progressing really well when my meeting attendance was down and my field service hours were slipping.

That I would get disfellowshipped, subsequently kicked out of the house and not be able to talk to my friends anymore.
iam grateful for my witness experience.
for the personal development the experience has given me.i belive the experience has made me a better man not a lesser man.. admittadly any positivnes that has come out of the negative is at great cost.

Well I had a gun pulled on me several times! You know the Get Of My Property, can't you read the d@mn sign, people. Then again I live in NC, so what do you expect? One time a guy cleaned his gun while letting me give my presentation, that was disconcerting to say the least.

2 hour long boring meetings about the same stuff over and over.
Those really happy people that try to catch me before I sneak out the back and hug me. Then they proceed to talk to me like we are best friends and I don't even really like them.

i agree that there are people who can throw blame around on both sides.

I wouldn't think twice about reporting abuse. I can't stand to see children harmed. If it was a neighbor or child I was in contact with alot and the abuse didn't stop I would probably run off with the child with a letter to authorities stating that the child was fine but I couldn't stand to see the abuse anymore.

i have a friend who recently married a witness.
he isn't a witness, and this is causing some issues with the family.
i'm curious what is cosidered the appropriate way that the families should deal with the issue.
Once your friend and his wife are married, however, no official congregational action can be taken. The marriage bond is sacred, and your friend's wife is supposed to stay with him no matter what. (1 Cor 7:10-13)
That isn't quite true, because a sister in our congregation married an unbeliver. 3 weeks later she was pubically reproved. I spoke to her later to let her know it was going to be ok, she was quite upset. I asked her if it was just because she married an unbeliever and she said yes. So SHE WAS PUBICALLY REPROVED FOR MARRYING AN UNBELIEVER. It was a rare case, but I think it was happening too much in our area and so the elders decided to make an example out of her.
