Teenyuck~
I'm with you!!
i have been in communication with an epicopalian priest through yahoo personals.
he lives in south kansas but comes to this area often.
i met him yesterday at barnes and noble.
i saw a thread the other day about movie titles for the wtbts.
i like one liners from movies for the wtbts as well..... unforgiven..........((no one deserves to die boy)).
dune..................((the sleeper has awoken)).
Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday in "Tombstone"
He did do a great job in that movie.
And how could I have forgotten the one I'm constantly quoting to my husband???
"Never let it be said that your anal retentive attention to detail never yielded positive results." (Dogma...another great movie for xJWs!)
from another thread:where else does the media so vividly show females as equal .
when i read this, i had to wonder: is there something wrong with doing so?
portraying women as equals?
You can DO anything you want or put your mind to...and not sacrifice being a woman. All I ask is that I be treated with the same regard as a man. I am proud of being one. And I am tired of taking shit for it.
Oh, OK, that makes sense. I was confused.
I like guys, too. I don't think guys should take shit just for being guys. It's unfair for women to take out their rage on the bad guys, on good guys.
But I also don't suffer fools gladly, be they male or female.
And as far as the whole male/female thing...my motto is:
Only weak men are intimidated by strong women.
i really liked it (i don't ask a lot in a movie...escapist entertainment's what i'm after).
i thought johnny depp rocked as the rather swishy, funny pirate captain.
orlando bloom is turning into quite the attractive young man...after that last scene, i can see him in musketeer garb.. looking forward to the league of extraordinary gentlemen (love sean connery)...heard it's not great, but like i said, escapist entertainment).
cat that is.
picture of my cat.
please show me yours.

I haven't had gobs of success linking pics...how about if I just give you the address of my webshots photo album?
http://community.webshots.com/user/steve_584
It has pics of all our cats, as well as a photo album of hubby's graduation, and some photos from Cedar Creek Natural History area, where he did some ecological research a couple of summers ago - there are some good pics of him there (my favorite is Small Bunyan). For those of you who are RenFaire fans, there is an album of a Pirate Singing group called the Jolly Rogers.
(edited because I can spell but apparently I can't type)

"Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry." ...Incredible Hulk

Don't come at me like a man does, don't try to use the same manners, tone or demeanor. I'll just blow you off and ignore you like some dopy loon.
Maverick, I don't think I even understand what you mean by this. I don't try to "act" like a man or a woman...I'm just me.
I've worked on a farm (we farmed the first 10 years we were married), I've been an OTR truck driver...does that make me "butch"? I was also a music major the first time through college, and performed Handel's Messiah in both the orchestra and the chorus, I have african violets blooming in my office (is that "feminine enough"?). I driven an 18 wheeler across the country, I've nursed a tiny sick kitten back to health. I'm starting grad school to get my PhD this fall.
So, which of these, if any, would make you ignore me like a dopy loon? Do you prefer women who dress in pastels and speak in soft, submissive voices? Cause that's kind of what you're sounding like.
For that matter, my husband can rebuild an engine, drive a truck, and nurse a sick kitten, too (and talk baby talk to it). Do you think talking baby talk to a sick kitten is "sissy"?
I might be totally misreading your post, but I'm just totally confused...
i'm currently taking a course in cultural anthropology to fulfill a college requirement and thought i'd share something from one of the textbooks we are using.
in the book, "extraordinary groups -- an examination of unconventional lifestyles" ethnographer william w. zellner relates his findings when he spent some time studying the jehovah's witnesses.
he relates of an experience he had when attending a convention: .
I took a cultural anthropolgy course not long ago and I learned a lot. I don't know about you, but I couldn't wait to go to that class each day! That class really changed me and opened my mind.
Me too. I love to hear stuff like this!! That's why I'm starting a PhD program in cult anth this fall! (despite the fact that my dad is horrified I'm leaving a "good office job" to get a degree he thinks I'm not going to be able to "do anything with." Those of us who are rather obsessed with anthro just love it when people say the class gives them way different insight (professors and potential future professors worry about that, you know )
