I became a JW because I believed in the Bible, and I left because I believed in the Bible.
That is so cool. Thank you.

it seems to me that this board's force comes mainly from our english and aussie friends.
i've read comments that some have gotten annoyed that the society and gb seem to only stress the "american" english in their style of writing.
i'm just curious as to what you think of your american brethren.
(((Boy!)))
It is always nice to know who your real friends are.
to me forgiving is not forgetting.
forgiving allows me to go on with my life.
but forgetting is something different.
The past cannot be forgotten; but the future is whatever we wish it to be.
Sentinel, It doesn't get any clearer than that.
Tex, I agree that there is always so much pressure to "just move on" and "deal with it." In religion I think the pressure is about control. They say "God demands" that you forget. But I keep reading the word forgive while the "holier than thou's" quote about forgiving. I don't forget hurts because they HURT dammit! And I also have learned the hard way that when I just let hurting people "get away with it" they do it again. It seems that if others can force/bully you into "just letting it go" then forgiviness and responsiblility are irrelevant. And then the hurt just sits inside you. To me it seems that people are to passive. The person who refuses to be a doormat is labeled as bad while the transgresser is just ignored. But, hey thats me.
Thunder, O K.
Sure,
People who have the "One true religion" (whatever it is) are really one step [religion] away from being an athiest. Where are you now? Did you give up and jump into athiesm and/or did you turn back consider really taking a look at other cultures, relgions, and lifestyles. What makes you happy?
how many of you read at least one newspaper every day?
does anyone read more than one newspaper daily?

When a person makes the choice to believe that they have the only "truth" about the unknowable they dismiss all religions and faiths save one. They are 99% athiest. For those who decided to leave such a program which way have you gone? 100% dismissive or have you begun a different path? Are you happier?

Has anyone seen the movie "Reign of Fire?" I think that is a great example of how these brit/Ozzy foriengers
[] see us yanks. "The only thing worse than a Dragon is an American."
Englishman I can see in color FYI
that's the number for wallstreet's settlement for fleecing so many out of so much.
has it ever been that so few have screwed so many?
i know a few characters might see the inside of a country club correction facility (for a little while) but it makes me .
No I agree with you sixofnine. Greed is greed. The 1.4 billon dollar settlement was for the outright lying and misreporting even giving false information about companies by banking firms, Citigroup JPMorgan and others. I'll put up a link later. And you are right investing takes more than the pull of a "one armed bandit." These guys committed fraud though. And 1.4 billion dollars in fines is nothing to them. I hope that the public remembers that.
i have noticed on this board that most people either start alot of threads or just respond to them.. someone told me that its because of where individuals get their inspiration.
those that start threads get their inspiration from other sources and those that usually just post to them get their inspiration from the thread subject.. what would you say you are?.
minimus & jh need not respond as we all know what they are .

iraqi prostitutes back on the streets after saddam
baghdad, april 29 (reuters) - um jenan used to wear gold jewellery, tight jeans and see-through blouses to attract vip clients to her apartment in baghdad -- until the masked men in black packed her into a minibus and drove her away.
when they laid out her body in front of her home the next day, she was dressed in loose-fitting sweat pants and a t-shirt.
Aztec and Forward you have really hurt my feelings with your antiwar comments. Here we are trying to do a good thing and you guys keep being so mean.
