i'm in a bit of a state at the moment, my wife has just left me about 30 mins ago and took the kids...i don't know where.... ok, some of you long-timers may remember the problems i had with my son ben, who decided that the jw religion wasn't for him about a year ago.
i supported him as best i could through that and he's developed into a fine young man with a more healthy spiritual attitude, investigationg a number of christian churches in the area and finally settled on church of england, which he really likes now.. although no longer a christian myself i have no objection to them pursuing whatever religious path they choose (obviously within reason).
that has been the case with all of my children: ben, 15, charlotte, 14 and chloe, 12. i have never attempted to stop my wife taking them to the meetings although i have voiced to them privately my concerns about the religion.

i've been on the atkins diet for several weeks now, and to it's credit i have lost about 20 pounds.
but*, the diet requires you to limit your carbohydrate intake to only 20 grams a day... and i love carbohydrates.
i'm off to the boston pizza restaurant to have a woooonder pizza and a tall beer!!!

"Whadda mean the Fab Five will be here in an hour?"
......when you wake up sad and annoyed, and it just goes downhill fast from there?
when all of your clothes make you feel fat, and you want breakfast but you've rummaged through the fridge and all of the cupboards and nothing sounds good, and your cheerful s/o is just making you feel worse with their attempts to make you feel better, and you can't find your favorite book anywhere, and the littlest things get on your nerves for no reason, which just makes you even more irritable because you know you're being childish but can't help it, and everything just plain sucks?
any suggestions for the terminally cranky?.
((Tink))
I'm glad you're feeling better, hon. Wish I could have gone shopping with you. I did a little shopping today...bought 2 yards of fabric. WOOHOO!! Is that exciting or what?!?! ohh!!! OHH!! and a sewing box (50% off)!!!

Lisa
did you ever work with this contraption?
when i was young, i used it in school.
did you ever use this, and do you still remember how it works?.
I haven't seen one of those in years. I used one...probably still could.

ah, sweet Tink. We all have one of those days. They come. They go. But while you're having one, it bites! Sometimes it's just best to be left alone. You've gotten some good advice here. Listen to your heart. Do what will make you happy. If that's a hot, bubble bath...so be it. Whatever will make you happy. Right now it doesn't feel like there's much out there that will make you happy, is there? But, sweetie, you know there is and all you have to do is do it.
Pretty simple advice. Not so simple to do.

as in ....you post something you feel is rather innocuous, or sincere, or perhaps revealing something rather private and honest and candid, and someone blows you away with a nasty comment?.
i am not speaking of heated debates.
if one participates in those, one expects to receive passionate replies which may sometimes hurt.
yes...why yes you are...you are always sweet...always...

To this day there will be some here that I just can't figure out. I always try to believe the best in people and I give my trust too quickly too often only to have it backfire on me. That's happened here. Yes ma'am, it hurt. But, it's a lesson learned.
There are so many good and wonderful people here. It's like a family reunion at times. Everybody shows up. Everyone overall has a good time. Everyone just ignores the crazy cousins.
