california researchers have found a physiological basis for social pain by monitoring the brains of people who thought they had been maliciously excluded from a computer game by other players.. naomi i. eisenberger, a scientist at the university of california, los angeles and the first author of the study to be published friday in the journal science, said the study suggests that the need for social inclusiveness is a deep-seated part of what it means to be human.. ''these findings show how deeply rooted our need is for social connection,'' said eisenberger.

it's autumn, and this is thanksgiving weekend in canada.. i'd thought i'd take a moment out to reflect on what i am thankful for, and ask, what are you thankful for?.

this is my favourite time of year.

I got the job

thanks so much to everyone for their support over the past weeks.. .

tim interviewed me every night this past week in order to get me ready.

it was grueling and i was in tears (not due to any pressure from him, but because of my own inadequacies); i've relied in the past on my personal warmth and integrity to get jobs but really needed to learn how to answer difficult questions.
