New Watchtower video on "real friends"
by cedars inhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5schopnecog.
it's difficult to imagine how this video could be more disingenuous and hypocritical.
cedars.

That was Watchtower weird. About par for the Watchtower to use a shallow cartoon to talk about friendship. One thing the Watchtower did say that was correct, was that 1 good friend is better than 100 fake (JW) friends.

Watchtower Society Has Systemically, Methodically Over The Years, Caused All JWs Diabolically To Worship Watchtower Headquarters Leadership [or G.B.]!
by bjc2read in(of course, this will be "old news" to many of you...but, this is especially written for the "newbies" who may not know of the following.).
... i was just wondering .... .
i remember back when i was very active among the jehovah's witnesses, the watchtower society recommended a special procedure they used to do to put pressure upon bible studies of jehovah's witnesses by doing something they called: "directing attention to the organization.

Worshipping the Organiztion has become the JW religion. Worshipping the Governing Body has become the JW idol.

Sleepy Hollow
by Flg8ter inwho else is watching the new show "sleepy hollow"?
the series premiere is on right now.
in the first few minutes of the show.......it show a road leading into the small town.
-
AlphaMan
I thought Sleepy Hollow was supposed to be a small town. A population of 144,000 would make a good sized city, not a small town. The original Sleepy Hollow that Washington Irving wrote about, in NY state, has a population even today of under 10,000.
Easier for a headless zombie to blend in with a population of 144,000 vs 10,000 people. I enjoyed the program and will watch again.

Porn Site "Friend Finder" files BK protection.
by AuntConnie inhttps://www.google.com/finance?q=ffnt&ei=aae4uviieak5iwl9mwe .
.
my husband put a large portion of our retirement money in this company, what the hell was he thinking?.

No wonder the Watchtower is selling Brooklyn properties to raise cash.......a large portion of their corporate portfolio was invested in this company. Seems it wasn't a good venue to find "Friends" interested in hearing about Jehovah's Witnesses.

Syposiums are pagan!
by krejames inthe bbc has been producing some interesting documentaries lately.
one series is about ancient greece and i learned something new (for me) that i thought a few here might like as much as i did.. according to one episode in the series, syposiums originated in ancient greece as events where people would get together, get drunk, make sacrifices to the pagan gods and then finally various people would stand up and talk and talk and talk, no doubt in a drunken ramble, about the deep topics of the day.. for this reason i cannot possibly attend another jw assembly or convention any more.
they always feature syposiums and now i know they are clearly rooted in paganism, well, it goes against my christian trained conscience..... .

Only in the JW religion can you listen to a "symposium", but not read a "bulletin board".

LOL....this was funny. I do remember them loving to use the word symposium at the conventions. JW's can be so anal over the perceived pagan origin of things.

AGM 5 OCTOBER 2013 (UNOFFICIAL RUMORS)
by WatchTower87 in- 23 day to go .. annual meeting unofficial rumors.
- new bible.
- new nwt (revision).
-
AlphaMan
I would guess only a new version of the NWT Bible will be announced. That could be a money maker for the GB. Maybe some kind of propaganda to entice more donations for their new World HQ. Too many more radical changes in major doctrine so soon could make JW's believe this Watchtower crap is being made up as they go along.
