  How Jehovah's Witnesses benefit those humble enough to study the Bible with them.

  excellent material can be found within the reasoning book, page 328, para.2, 3. occasionally, i see posters make presumptuous comments like, "all you need is the bible", or, "i'm born-again, so there's no need for spiritual assistance from another christian", or,"i'm saved", or my favorite, "jesus talks to me directly.

  " on one hand, i can't be overly critical of such ones because they do attempt to read and understand the bible on their own.

  (acts 17:11) not to mention they're generally peaceable folks, just self-misguided when erroneously believing that they can go it alone.

  How Many Generations From Noah to Abram?

  so in trying to keep family off my ass i sat in with family "worship" from the imitate their faith book.

  in chapter three it starts off saying that abram was ten generations away from noah.

  imagine the looks of anger and frustration i was given when i kept reading the sentence as abram being one generation removed from noah.

  you are probably wondering what these two subjects have in common.

  well, i have been pondering something for quite some time.

  i have been trying to figure out how explain the recent and huge doctrinal shifts of the wtbts since the 2012 annual meeting, and the accompanying modernizing of the jw official website.

  Which vacation would the Society prefer a Witness take?

  of the three following vacations, which one would the watchtower society prefer that a witness take?.

  1 - a three week working volunteer vacation in bethlehem, to help the international palestinian youth league and the alternative information center, [ a joint palestinian and israeli activist organization] to turn a former israeli army base into a residential compound with a school, a hospital, a youth house and a series of gardens.. 2 - a three week working volunteer vacation to help the local food bank collect, stock and distribute food to the needy.

  duties would include preparing tasty and nutritious meals for local residents including families.. 3 - a three week cruise from seattle to hawaii, enjoying all the amenities of the luxury liner, as well as seven days in hawaii enjoying the scenery, the restaurants and the hot, sandy beaches.. if you are able to make more detailed comments i would greatly appreciate it.

  If you let the Watchtower influence your life when it comes to vacations......they will try to influence your life in those areas. Best to make it clear you will not put up with any JW's getting into your vacation business.

  I told the elders that I would take blood and donate blood

  i found it important to be honest with my wife.

  so i told her about my conscience decision that in a medical urgency i want blodless medicine but if a transfusion of blood or the 4 prohibited components is necessary to save my life or health i would accept it.

  this would apply especially also for our child (that is not such a problem as in our country the wts recommends to comply with doctors as they have the right to decide concerning minors).. i showed her the reasons why i came to that conscience decision (biblical and logical reasons) and that jehovah and jesus do not like anyone to die because of this wrong bible application.. .

  (Maybe you can't understand why I wrote this to the elders. Maybe I even wish that they disassociate me because that would be a way to leave. It is so hard to go to all the meetings and pretend)

  If you are in a position where you don't care to get DA'd or DF'd...what makes the better statement?

  If the elders do it people will think YOU did something wrong and was punished.

  If YOU do it people will wonder what YOU seen that caused YOU to leave.

  The harm this cult has done to generations of families is irreprehensible. Families have been doomed to a life of poverty, becuase of heeding the stupid advise of the Watchtower and slaving for this religious publishing corporation. JW's are looked down upon for normal things like getting a college education, a good paying job or career, and even saving for retirement. What other religious organization is crazy like this with their members over such normal things in life?

  Like when I was a young, dumb motivated believer. We were sharing a KH with another cong. and the elders & their wifes wanted to build a new one in our community. The annoucements of how much money we were getting as a cong. was pathetic. I took everything I had in savings and donated it. We did eventually build a new KH. As I later got to know the elders better, it was disheartening to see how well off they were and how easily they could have afforded to give more. They knew the scam and I didn't. Now....I've been out for a very long time, am very well off and those twits are old and right back in the same cong. with those others twits, because so many people have left this family destroying joke of a religion they could not longer support that cong. I'm sure the Watchtower ended up with the money from the sale of the KH.

  One of the things that always bothered me about the Jehovah Witness religion was how long it took a person to become baptized as an accepted Christian. In the Bible, people became accepted as believers in a very short time. The Watchtower relifion with their long drawn out WT publication studies, passing the baptism test, adherenace to WT grooming styles, and learning the ropes of Field Service always made it seem like an indoctrination & brainwashing versus a true conversion to Christianity.
