Michael Brown verdict discussion policy

it's likely that the grand jury verdict on the michael brown incident will be released in the coming days or weeks.. i've no doubt many people are going to feel strongly about things whatever the verdict is.. whatever the outcome though, here's what's not going to happen:.

we're not going to put up with inflamatory language and comments designed to rile others up.

be respectful.. we will not allow accusations of racism simply because some have a view of the verdict that contradicts others.. there will not be invented evidence or claims being repeated - if it's been falsely reported or debunked then it's off limits.. it's not going to be an opportunity for people to air past gripes over past discussions.. if you feel that you cannot discuss the subject in a rational way then it may be better to simply avoid any topics on the matter.. please try to be objective and respectful if you do decide to comment and not keen to take offense.

What about the people on the street witnessing the events, what were their observations.

Some witnesses agree with Officer Wilson's account, while other witnesses have a different account. Forensic evidence and common sense agree with officer Wilson's account.

I grew up in the era of Kent State where the Hippies put flowers in the rifle barrels of the National Guard.

Maybe Michael Brown was only trying to place a flower in the barrel of officer Wilson's gun when we tried to take it away from him. That makes as much sense as any other MB sympathetic version of events.

Good grief.......the officer was called into the neighorhood to assist a baby in trouble. Then while leaving the area he spots Brown & Johnson walking down the middle of the stripped road that had sidewalks on each side. Is it really a stretch to believe that 5-7 170 Officer Wilson mearly told Brown & Johnson to get on the sidewalk? This Officer had no history or trouble and was not looking for trouble. Brown either mouthed off to the Officer or Wilson determinded that they fit the discription of 2 robbery suspects. Either way Brown escalated every step in this incident that led to his death.

No store robbery by Brown, no police radio report of robbery suspects matching Brown & Johnson.

No walking in the middle of the street, no stopping them by Officer Wilson.

If Brown complied to get on the sidewalk, the Officer leaves.

If Brown never attacked the Officer, the Officer doesn't go for his gun.

If Brown doesn 't go for the Officer's gun, he doesn't get fatally shot.

The evidence supports Officer Wilson's version of events over the version of Dorian Johnson's.

Does getting into a hand to hand scuffle with a police officer justify a gun being pulled and killing the aggressive perpetrator ?

LOL....is this a serious question? Michael Brown was 6-4 292 pounds. Officer Wilson was 5-7 170 pounds. Officer Wilson doesn't know the age, background of the person, or what weapons Michael Brown might have on him. All he knows is a huge man is suddenly attacking him, beating the hell out of him, and going for his service revolver. After 2 shots are fired in his car during the struggle Officer Wilson gains control of his gun. Hell yeah....if you survive being overpowered from this felonious assult attempted murder of an officer you shoot to kill that attacking SOB every time for personal survival.

i think everyone here can agree that walking down the street, even in the middle of the street, is not cause for having a clip emptied in your ass......... i can understand how the black community would be outraged by the injustice of seeing another black man dead in the street at the hands of the police under mysterious circumstances....... i hope that i'm not succumbing to the attempts to assinate the already well impuned character of the dead man...... however.

i can't help but think that this could all have been avoided by exercising the proper discretion with fore-knowledge of the disadvantages people of color have when they are dealing with law enforcement in the united states.

it is not as if this disadvantage has only since recently came to light.

See you are still trying to make it about race. With your logic, I suppose if the 6-4 292# Michael Brown was white, the 5-7 170# Officer Wilson would just have let Brown continue to beat the hell out of him and take his gun. Or maybe you imply that only a black Poilice Officer can fatally shoot a black thug attacking them like that. The whole incident was escalated by Michael Brown.

She was arrested for leading the beatdown. Her gang of 20-30 thugs used clubs & pipes and their fists on the black victims. Then, they stole the merchandice and money that did not belong to them. The KKK used same type gang of thugs beatdown tactics on innocent black people. I feel for her losing a son, but for her to be before a UN human rights committee 1 month after doing this is a joke. Even bigger joke when you consider it is to support the lie that her son was innocently executed by a racially motivated white cop. Michael Brown in the short span between robbing the store and getting shot to death assulted the store owner and the police officer. Evidence supports the Police Officer's version of events.

Michael Brown's mother Lesley McSpadden who only 1 month ago was arrested for leading a mob of 20-30 people with clubs that attacked and beat a group of vendors selling tee-shirts that supported the Michael Brown protests, was today in front of a U.N. human rights Committee in Geneva, Switzerland to continue to try to spin her son attacking a police officer and getting shot to death into an unprovoked racially motivated police execution. Included among the vendors beaten by Michael Brown's mother's mob in that incident was Michael Brown's Father's mother-in-law.
