Mine says "Juanita". Nope, that's not my name. My hubby bought me this mug to replace the one that I really liked, but broke, that had my name on it. He couldn't find a replacement mug with my name on it, so he bought one for me that says "Juanita". Funny guy :-)

so it's a beautiful saturday morning in murphy, texas -- big tex was about to go to home depot and i was about to start weeding the garden when we looked out front and there was a nondescript 4-door sedan parked in front of our house.
the two guys in it weren't getting out, so we thought "uh-oh.
" i asked again, "why didn't you come and visit me then?
Way to go guys!! Your replies were fantastic, I don't think they will be bothering you again for a long time. I can only hope that I keep my wits about me if the elders come by to ask me "The Question". I have some good ideas how I will answer :-) Thanks for the laugh!

last night i convinced my jw husband to start using the computer.
i am not good with it but enough to get the info.
for him this is a really big deal, he seemed scared at first ,probably because their are all apostates on the web and a demon may jump out to get him.
kls, here's hoping that your hubby will do some investigation into this religion using the computer and find out the truth about the "truth". That's what I did. But my hubby is another story.
My hubby (a jw) works in the IT department at his job (works with computers). He's uses the Internet all the time to get information for his job at work. I've shown him stuff about the jws from non-apostate sites, done tons of research. You would think that with his computer background and him using the Internet at work to get information that he would look into the things that I have shown him. No way, he just sticks his head in the sand. It's enough to make me scream! He's so stubborn.
Garybuss and Dansk that's what I'm working on now to prove to my hubby that the 607 date is false. It's probably a waste of my time, that's why I have been putting it off. I have found alot of good information that I want to put together to show my hubby. Then I'm done, I give up.

Corvin Welcome again. Thanks for posting your story. Congratulations on getting your daughters out of the jws. Like xjw said "3 teenagers....shudders" The fun begins :-) LOL at least they will be able to have a normal teen life. You sound like a very loving dad, that's what they need the most.

this was one of the craziest things i remember about the summer conventions.
i would go into the sister's bathrooms and the mirrors would all be taped up with brown paper so that we couldn't look at our reflections.
were were amish or something?
I've never been to an Assembly where they covered up the mirrors. But I was friends with a very spunky sister that told me about mirrors being covered at an Assembly that she attended. She said "They treat us like a bunch of cattle." LOL too funny, at the time I must admit I was a little shocked at her attitude.

well not 'new', as i'm over 30. heh but i'm newly out (letter of disassociation dropped off at kh end of january, and i was announced last thursday night).
i posted my 'story' on a different ex-jw board, and as it is so long, i'm not reprinting it.

he is in hospital having a few tests done and doesn't have access to computer facilities at the moment.. his 'ticker' is misbehaving - i think it must be short of beer!
everything else about him is working perfectly normal - so he has all the nurses running around and is thoroughly enjoying all the attention!

My Mom and sister knows that I'm here (non jws). But they are not familiar with computers, so they don't understand. My Mom likes to relate all the Internet horror stories that she hears on the news to me, she says to me "I'll never have one of those things in my house". I say yeah Mom, to me the Internet has been a lifesaver. She just doesn't get it.
My daughter knows that I'm here (raised a jw). To my knowledge she hasn't looked at the site yet. She claims she is "over it" (the jws). I hope so.
My hubby doesn't know I'm here, he's the one I worry about, I hate to think what would happen if he found me here. He hardly uses this computer, too slow (dial up), he uses the one he has at work.
