This is just getting stupid
by spiritwalker inthis a quote from cnn.com.
in which they are talking about a new movie that is about the last ours of jesus christ ... .
the movie, whose dialogue is in latin and aramaic, covers the final 12 hours in the life of jesus christ and has come under fire from some jewish groups who claim its story could foment anti-semitism by tying christ's death to jewish authorities.. .

Non Jw and Jw can the relationship last?
by Dayshdeess ini have recentley fallen for a very nice female.
she's in her early twenties and i am 31, age we dont have a problem with and to be honest and soppy we truly love each other, her family have disowned her because of what she believes, my family have their doubts but again thats not a problem, i value my familys opinions who have already voiced their doubts, but i would like to make this work, albeit for her beliefs.. i feel she has been shown this way, firstly by her best friend who was born into it and has recentley been disfellowshipped for falling for a non jw, and also by things which have happened to her in her short life.
i knew after the first month that she was a jw, but she kept telling not to worry, as it wouldnt affect our future.

I should add that, the spectre of a change of heart and a return to the ways of dubdom is always in the back of my mind. This is what keeps me coming to this board and keeps me reading and researching the teachings and ways of the JW's. Should I ever need to use it, I want to have plenty of ammo to fight with.
The sad truth is, though. Should a desire to return occur and should I be unable to stop it. That will be the end. -

I think you need to find out where you stand. My significant other is a JW and I'm not. I don't really care about what anyone believes or how many meetings they go to or any of that. It's all "whatever" as far as I'm concerned. But..... The blood issue is something different. This is something that could take the one you love away from you. It was something I couldn't live with. When things started getting serious between us I asked this person if I was going to have to stand by and watch them die because of something that was said thousands of years ago by a bronze age primitive who hadn't a clue what a blood transfusion was. The answer I got was "probably" so I said "I can't live with that" and just stared back. Since then, the blood cards have come out of the wallet, all communication with JW friends has stopped (including meetings) and we've been shopping for Christmas presents for our respective families together. When I finally got up the nerve to ask where I stood I was told that, given the choice between being with me or being with a church, the choice would always be me. It was further stated that "God knows one's heart" and that is what's important. Not going to meetings or following rules. A very atypical attiude for a dub from what I understand but it's something that never would have been enunciated had I not made my feelings known. The person I'm with has been in the "truth" for about 10 years so, while not a lifer, they are certainly not a newbie either. I was dead serious when I said I couldn't live with the blood issue. I was ready to leave. It's a real threat, and it's something to be seriously considered if you're going to continue the relationship. I might be painful to break it off now, but probably less so than watching the person you love die because of something you find to be beyond reason.

Speaking of CoC....
I have a long time friend who, after years of agnosticism has started searching in earnest for God and is reading the Bible and such. Her mother is a JW which, as you can imagine concerns me greatly. I asked my friend if her mother had been working with her through her new found interest in God and she said that she had been trying to get her to read some of the publications and go to meetings and such. My friend is a really intelligent person (PhD) so I wasn't really all THAT concerned but in talking to her, I could see that she had never heard anything of the "dark" side of the WT.
To make a medium length story short, I sent my friend CoC she read it all the way through and the WT now has one less potential convert. She's still searching for God but she will NOT be looking to the WT for any answers.
THANK YOU RAY!!!!! And thanks to everyone here who has recommended this book so that I knew to send it to my vulnerable friend. -

Refuting the whole WT Org in one question...
by Confucious ini'm testing my hypothosis here.... the question is this.... "does the wt org.
get special revelations from god today.".
if they answer "yes," then they are going against the bible which says that all scripture is complete.. if the say "no," then we can say, "then why do you say we should follow you.".

"Jehovah has always led his people to clearer understanding of his will. (Ps. 43:3) Just how he has guided them may be illustrated this way: If a person has been in a dark room for a long period of time, is it not best if he is exposed to light gradually? Jehovah has exposed his people to the light of truth in a similar manner; he has enlightened them progressively. (Compare John 16:12, 13.) It has been as the proverb says: "The path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established."?Prov. 4:18."

Has the WT ever published anything in regards to proofs that "early Christians" believed as they do. I see it claimed countless times in the publications that "true christians" have existed from day one up to the current WT society but I've never seen any examples offered up. To what do they refer to back up their claim? Do they claim an unbroken chain of succession from the early days or do "true Christians" spontaneously sprout up from nothing in each successive generation without having had the mantle passed on to them from a previous generation?
