  Trying to forget

  ok, right or wrong, i’ve attempted to ignore all jw related “stuff” in my life.

  i fired my mom many years ago from babysitting for violating the no proselytizing to my kids rule.

  shortened version of long story: i paid her for childcare (fair, going rate), super witness!

  i don't post much, i guess i usually just don't have anything interesting to say.

  (didn't comment much at meetings either.

  anyway, been in a bit of a quandry about what to do about holidays.

  my youngest brother graduated from high school this past weekend so i was back to the 'folks for a visit.

  i think i've been doing rather well up until this point.

  my husband and i have been talking things through, and we both know we don't want to go back.

  What works for me?

  i remembered something that was in my consiousness from back in the day.

  i went to the door of a very nice home and was greeted by a nice person.

  i presented the usual rehearsed salespitch and she said the oddest thing, "i tried jehovah's witness once, it just didn't work for me.

  i've been lurking in this site for about a week now.

  i didn't know something like this existed or else i may have come sooner.

  i'm a bit selfish for making this my first post, but i'd like to introduce myself and get some feedback if possible.. my parent's became jehovah's witnesses when i was eight years old, so i was for the most part "raised in the truth".
