Isn.t chesterfield a cigar? I guess I have never been to chesterfield. Not in this life anyway.

You must love the snow- when it does snow I will send you a snowball or would you rather have a chesterfield snowman?

RAY FRANZ--You Are Appreciated Very Much!!!
by minimus inafter coming home to read what has happened today on this board, i would just like to say that no matter what differences anyone has ever had with ray franz, i, for one appreciate what he has done for me.
ray has helped more people to look at their spirituality over the last 2 decades.
he is not perfect, but he has been a voice of reason and a man of integrity.

Should I say "Ray Franz is great or what!" LOL Sorry could't help myself. I do agree though. As stated before the man earned respect because of his dignity.

Hurling the First Stone
by orangefatcat ini am a firm believer in that scripture that if a person is without sin let him hurl the first stone.
i cannot believe the hostility that is going on in the forum.
we are grown adults we have opinions but do our opinions and feelings have to come down to mud slinging?

This is exactly why I say Mr Bowen needs to exercise extreme caution in his public statements and actions. He is the one, along with the silent lambs, who are throwing mighty stones.........

Is Ray Franz Great or What?
by silentlambs inthis evening i had a nice conversation with ray and we discussed our previous conversation.
while our previous conversation was remembered differently in certain areas we agreed that we should be peaceful with one another, i apologized for any misunderstanding and decided as a result to remove any negative comments made about him.
i do believe our discussion was productive and will help us both to be more supportive of one another in the future.

There is little doubt that the sarcasm runs deep in the post. As I stated before- at the least, Mr Bowen, please get a good PR person and have a trusted friend review any statements prior to public release- It is for the abuse victims- right?

Might as well jump in...
by Cygnus ini have seen (edited to add the word "posted" here, for clarification purposes) on this board that bill bowen is still a jw at heart, and i have seen posts and transcipts of his where he refers to the "christian" way of handling matters.
i have it on good authority that bill is not concerned with the bible, and that he is as far from being a jw as could be (religiously speaking).
bill has refused to answer my inquiries as well as others' when asked about his position on religious/jw matters that have a bearing on his silentlambs credibility based upon direct statements made by him.

The only thing I disagree with is that you referred to Mr Bowen being "kicked out". It seems to escape everyones attention that Mr Bowen "quit" 13 months prior to getting "kicked out". If one takes a stand against the "club" they belong to and walks away from it the df'ing is really only a formality.

Mr Bowen that was a wonderful thing to do. I hope that you can likewise calm down with those who for whatever reason can not actively support the silent lambs movement- Lack of active support does not mean that one does not support the cause. Each of us have moved on to varying degrees in our lives away from the WT experience. Due to personal traumas and other issues in each ones private lives one must set priorities that fit those closest to them and those whom they are repsonsible for. By saying "no" or "I can't" in no way means that person is weak or afraid to take a stand.
Thankfully there are the Bill Bowens out there who can make sacrifices as you have.
