Life on other planets?
by freedom96 inas jw's, we were taught that there is no way that there is life anywhere but here on earth.. i personally never bought into that completely.
there are billions and billions of solar systems out there.
i do believe that absolutely there is life on other planets.

such as a being a cop, for having a gun.
couldn't be a martial arts instructor.. maybe it was a well paying career.. did you have a job that was not approved of?

I knew an influentail elder down in Pensacola Fl who was also the "fill in" circuit overseer. He learned the "truth" while serving in the military. He decided not to get baptised till he finished his 18 months needed for retirement- LOL I always thought about that one. Thought baptism was just a symbolizing ones dedication- a dedication that had already taken place in ones heart. You are responsible for the the knowledge you have gained- baptized or not. Anyway one has to see the hipocracy in that one-

Lucky Charms, the forbidden fruit.
by kenpodragon inwhen i was a witness i remember one time being in the kingdom hall talking to a group and a little kid walked up with something his "worldly" grandmother gave him.
it was a rabbits foot on a key chain, a very well known symbol or good luck charm.
i remember the woman in the group kind of freaking out, and walking the child back to his parents and demanding that the demonized object be taken out of gods house.

I never kept or carried a "charm" of any sort. Nothing of that sort ever gave me any kind of confidence. Watched an episode of the Twilight Zone a fews weeks back and it was in regards to this subject. Each of these CEO types was addicted to some sort of supersticious object or manerism. From where I sit- if having such a charm of whatever makes you feel more confident I do not think it any more harmful than saying a prayer.

Sister Brutally Murdered In Moscow
by Derrick ini ran across this shocking article and thought it might be of interest:.
http://www.stetson.edu/~psteeves/relnews/0108a.html.
with extreme cynicism and brutality an ex-convict made short work of a female sectarian from the "jehovah's witnesses" religious society.

What a sad thing! How it does remind me that JW's are trained to be more compssionate and trusting of such persons as convicted murderers than they are of df'd family members. How sad indeed! To bad he did not tell her instead that he was an apostate- she would have ran away from him and still been alive today.

watchtower: Pimping you out to the world!
by CornerStone injust venting before i go to work.
i was thinking how watchtower has to be one of the biggest pimps of peoples minds and bodies in the world.
#1 they have their people go out and "perform" or "do tricks" with peoples minds and emotions.. #2 they have their people go out and bring in the "masters belongings", warm bodies, their money and a lifetimes servitude, with watchtower the "master"!

So we are prostitutes-
or were.
I always had a problem with the Wt's belief that they have a patent on truth- so to speak. If it were the "truth" would "god" not want it spread from any means possible? I remember the WT bashing armstrong- the guy who wrote the "Plain Truth" journal. They accused him of "stealing" thier truth and condemned him as a thief. Armstrong- up till his death had a TV show and published his Jwish type dogma in the Plain Truth mag. His big defference, as I remember it, was that he did not promote the name Jehovah. Nor did he try to gather a JW like following- locking in his members with the fear of death unless you follow my group. The WT really hated this guy.

outforgood- somtimes you have to evalutate the circumstances and how they ultimately affect yourself and your loved ones. Pride could destroy what she really wants to accomplish. Acting otherwise may- as many here realize all to well- serve to isolate her from her children. If her intent is to salvage such relationships and get married she is actually just covering herself with the org by using thier rules against them- protecting herself.
