Can we really fade away for good
by JH ini was wondering how long an inactive witness can stop going to meetings before the elders can disfellowship the person?
some are saying that the elders will visit inactive ones in jan, feb, march.
is there a strategy up their sleeve?

JT thank god people are dif! I post my opinion here only to share how I feel- not to condemn others for their free choice. I admit that I am very opnionated and speak strongly on my views- but in doing so I do get responses and learn how others feel. This helps me grow- and I hope I never stop growing and learning from those who disagree with my viewpoints.
Thank you!

Double life....
by kelsey007 inat some point most all ex-jws lived a double life within the organization.
whatever happened to make each of us change our views toward the religion few went straight to the elders and spoke openly and candidly about their feelings.
we put on the act for a while before we stopped going or got caught in our evil deeds or thoughts and were removed.

What a laugh! Recently I was told by a fellow board member to "get over it"! Just wanted to share silent lambs headlined (on their web site) nitwit quote:
Quoted: Ray Franz - Former Watchtower Governing Body Member Quote: As I have stated, during my 40 years of Witness membership any cases of child molestation never came to my attention. During my 9 years on the Governing Body and my years on the Service Committee of the Governing Body, the issue was not presented Who needs to "get over it"? What a riot- After BB said he made peace with Ray Franz he throws another blind shot at the man! LOL

At some point most all ex-jws lived a double life within the organization. Whatever happened to make each of us change our views toward the religion few went straight to the elders and spoke openly and candidly about their feelings. We put on the act for a while before we stopped going or got caught in our evil deeds or thoughts and were removed. For those who just drifted away- as they say- they still lived in fear- at least for a time- of being seen going into the bar or smoking the cig. Excuses were made: "Oh I have just been sooo busy or sick or out of town".
For the "drift aways" they still do not want to honestly deal with the decision they made- To me this proves the power of the WT organization- "Fear of Man". What will I say to the elders when they come knocking? How will mom react?
Will my sister disown me?
Are these legitimate reasons to live a double life? Is the fear of "what others will think" and"how will they react" a good reason to perputrate a fraud?
Isnt a person much happier and healthier when they stand up and speak honestly about their feelings on such a matter?
Most of us here were jw's and we know well that when someone hasnt been to a meeting for a long time they were "marked". A jw in good standing would never associate closely with such a person.
IMHO it is the same fear of man that kept us trapped in the organization to begin with that promotes the willingness to be dishonest-
A true fear of a loving god would never promote such a willingness to be dishonest.

Take a look at this.
by Monster ineveryone knows how the jws teach you must be a jw in order to survive, well look at this qoute from the seventh day adventist:.
everson, charles t., the mark of the beast, reprinted from bible lectures by permission of pacific press publishing association, owners of the copyright; washington, dc, hagerstown, md, review and herald publishing association.. this booklet is being circulated in the seventh-day adventist church, and is a clear explanation of a seventh-day adventist doctrine, namely, that people who worship on sunday have the mark of the beast of revelation, and will be lost eternally.
hereby, the seventh-day adventist church sets herself apart and makes the claim that only she contains true christians.

They have much in common because the WT is rooted in adventist movement- plenty on that subject on other ex-jw sites.

The WT is like an exclusive club. You were once a member. For whatever reason you have quit the club but dont want to give up the membership. What baffles me- is why would I want my name attached in any way, anywhere to an organization that I stand opposed to so much. Why would under any circumstances would I Not want my name removed from the rolls of a organization that I believe is so wrong? How could I ever live with myself or my loved ones knowing that I dishonestly did avoidance in order to not have my name removed from the rolls of such an organization- one that I expend energies on the internet speaking abusively about? In the long term how could I ever think that I am going to advantage any of my relationships by being so dishonest? I would much rather be respected for having taken an honest approach in dealing with the issue at all cost. Then I can sleep peacefully at night, look in the mirror each morning and know that I was better than they- I took the heat as an adult. It seems to me that many believe they can have their cake and eat it too. I ate my cake and walked away with a full stomach- - outlived the indegestion and found cake elsewhere....

Why would a jw's opinion of this article be of any importance?

Families have become seperated for many reasons- much more than just being shunned by jw relatives. Why live a lie? Why not be true to yourself and honesty? Why stoop to the level of those that you have departed from? Simple, plain old honesty is the best bet. Long term you will be much happier with yourself- you know the person you are around 24/7. You will never be happy dragging this thing on and playing games with the WT. The mere fact that you are posting here proves that.
