do jw youths understand that if they just didn't get baptized their parents would not be able to shun them later?
they must be able to see how this works in other families.
is it feasable for a jw teen to reject baptism?
It's always been stated in talks that if you "know you should" be baptized but dont, and you know "the troof" then you will not survive Armaggedon. I believe that is the kicker for most young people, along with pressure for people in the cong, and family members. My parents made it perfectly clear that I would have to move out when I was 18 if I wasn't "In the troof".

well, as a nice start to the new year, the jan 1st watchtower article, "how firm is your trust in god" blasts those who live comfortable lives, those who don't reach out, and those who pursue higher education.. definitely, they are taking a harsher stand, having completely painted themselves into a corner.. i highlighted the interesting comments.

That's an interesting point, and would not be unrealistic for them to do. I can see it now, they suddenly organize a bunch of special talks and then announce the great tribulation has begun. LOL. Imagine the frenzy that would set off.

Well, I do know for a fact that when my brother was 17 he shaved his head bald, and the PO said he would lose his priveleges if he didnt grow it back.
Same thing happened when he grew his hair out and got corn rows. They said he shouldnt try to imitate "the world" and was threatened with loss of priveleges again.
