  JW relationship with a Study?

  i'm currently taking book study and still am not sure about completely pursuing the religion, but am openly analyzing what i am learning.

  i am currently dating a jw... my question is how is it looked upon when a jw dates a "study" ?

  is it allowed by the elders or will he be shunned?

  Ahmen to what everyone else said....

  He is privately reproved b/c of YOU. (more than likely, anyways. You may correct me if I'm wrong, but that is probably it...) That alone should show you just how bizarre they can be... and if you don't believe me, go to your congregation, nay, any congregation and see what types of people are usually in there. You will find no love, something that Jesus said would be a mark of his disciples.... and, you will find that they are "ravenous wolves" in sheeps clothing. I have never heard a scripture more accurately describe the religion in my life. What is their response to all this bickering? Well, we're all imperfect..... That only holds water for so long. After 10 years, and about 7 congregations, you get tired of that pretty fast.

  Sex Offender in my neighborhood

  we just got a notice in the mail today that a level 2 sex offender is living in our neighborhood.

  they didn't give an address, just cross streets.

  he lives two blocks from us which is directly next door to the elementary school my kids will go to in september.

  My mother has a sex-offender neighbour 2 doors down from her... it was on the news and everything. She doesn't go out at night anymore, and is totally freaked!

  The R.C.M.P. (That's the royal canadian mounted police) have his name up on their local website. I would give you a link, but that's too much info. to give on this forum.

  Organized Mail-Outs To The Society.

  what would everyone think about flooding the society once a week, for as long as it takes about their bloodguilty actions in regard to their sexual abuse coverup?

  if you were to think about it.... getting 500 letters from individuals every week would certainly get their attention, would it not?.

  obviously, there would be many details to be worked out... i think that a generic letter, that you could cut, paste, and print out would be excellent.

  I would say that the goal would be to bug the bleep out of the WT society, until they come clean and admit their wrongs. It sounds far fetched, but I feel a little silly just posting here on the board sometimes, saying how much they suck. (no offence, anyone.... ok? )

  Word would certainly get out about how much mail they're getting, and how they're doing nothing about it. It may get some people thinking..... Hell, I think it's worth $2.00 per month...

  How much do you tip and why?

  i am a waitress at a pizzeria/italian restaurant.

  overall i get really good tips but sometimes it seems like the customers are going to tip a certain amount no matter what i do.

  i can totally screw up a table and still get a great tip and other tables i give perfect service to and get a lousy tip.

  Obviously, there would be many details to be worked out... I think that a generic letter, that you could cut, paste, and print out would be excellent. This would get their attention rather quickly, I would say. Opening 500 letters per week would be a pain in the arse, wouldn't you say?

  I would welcome anyone's thoughts / opinions / criticisms. I don't know if this has been done before, but sounds like one hell of an idea in theory.

  If we could get others from other discussion boards on board, we could raise it to an astronomical number.... one could only imagine what would happen.

  if you haven't seen "man on the moon" where jim carrey plays andy kauffman, do yourself a favor and rent it.

  this is one of the best movies i've seen in a long time..

  Yes, I loved that movie. Highly under-rated. Andy Kauffman (sp?) was a FREAK! He was insane, and he did not care what others thought of him.

  I helped my parents move today, so I had A&W (bleah!), and I fed my clients pizza (frozen, bleah!) and salad.

  I don't like cooking unless I have to... which is every day...

  Did you know anyone who commited suicide in the org?

  back in 1991, a young brother maybe 18 years old living next to my place committed suicide.

  his father expected him to be very zealous just like he was, but the son never wanted to be like that.

  he was always controlled by his father.

  I hope that this doesn't get you too upset. I forgive them for their uncaring attitude, and their guilt. I only mentioned my story to ensure that all people who lurk here get the real truth on this religion. I am beyond their control, and beyond caring what pharisees think of me. They won't win, b/c they are wrong.

  I feel sorry for lots of people here, whose parents died b/c of suicide. Those are the ones that I am sad over.

  Ha!

  when in the borg, I would want them as far away from me as possible. They may see me outside with my friends having a (gasp) beer, listening to music that is pretty much all demonized.... screw that.

  Right now my next-door neighbour is an elder... he has no idea who I am, and I don't tell him. He's really nice, which is really odd - very talkative and NEVER, REPEAT NEVER talks about his religion. Wow. I only found out from the other neighbours that he and his wife are dubs.
