I thought it was decent. I wasn't blown away though.
I really want to go through and rewatch all the X-Files episodes.... that shouldn't take too long. What are there, 200 episodes? lol
after all the negative reviews on here and elsewhere when this movie came out, i forego going to see it in the theater.
i rented it today and watched it, and i must say i regret not seeing it in the theater.
it was based much more on the characters and their motivations in this movie than in the last movie, but it was very interesting.

My guess is that most here have found the WT are full of lies so they think the bible is a lie and thus creation.
However, why should we believe that the WT are actually representative of the bible or the God of it?
Usually the religious types will accuse an ex-JW that is now agnostic/atheist with "throwing the baby out with the bathwater."
This is often an inaccurate judgment. I'm not saying no one does it, but in many cases ex-JWs have learned that there are no "sacred cows" and everything can and should be questioned. No assumptions should be made -- not even about God or the Bible.
In my case, when I critically examined the bible I realized that it was not so amazing as I had been led to believe. It appeared more as a book written by regular men, full of contradictions, inaccuracies, and fantasy. And when I critically examined the evidence for a God, I realized there really is no hard evidence that he exists.. That is why I'm an atheist.
I did not decide to abandon all things religious simply because I was "hurt" by the JWs.
who or what are we acountable to for our actions?.
But then I venture to say, two people now would have" in time " PTSD !!!!!
That's quite possible! Is PTSD evidence that what a person did was wrong? Or can someone who develops PTSD (or has any sort of emotional hardship after the fact) have actually done the morally correct thing?
Some things may be morally justified and "right", but that doesn't gaurantee the action will be easy.

Good thoughts, Narkissos.
who or what are we acountable to for our actions?.
Very rarely have I seen a discussion of this sort be anything more then an attempt to justify theistic faith and worship, and to use as evidence, "codes of conduct, morals, and ethics".
My experience is the same.

"Implanted" refers to skills learned while hooked up to the Matrix.
Sorry Freeman, before I posted that I thought maybe you were joking. I figured I'd post anyone in case someone else thought you were serious. ;)

Morality is objective because either our behavior has positive effects or it doesn't.
Yes, our actions have a positive or negative (or neutral) effect. But that does not make morality objective. Objective morality would mean that it is universal and not up to any sort of "conditions." It also wouldn't change with time. I say morality is subjective. It is relative to circumstances, society, culture, and evolves over time.
Killing is wrong, but it's ok if you are defending yourself. Stealing is bad, but it's definitely "less bad" if you are stealing to feed your starving family. So many moral issues are gray areas and the circumstances must be considered before it can be judged as right or wrong.
Some actions approach objective, though, and are probably considered wrong by most any person, in any culture, in any time period. Sexual abuse of a young child might be one example. But even that is not considered wrong by 100% of humanity under all circumstances for all time.
There will never be agreement among 100% of humanity on any moral issue, let alone an entire moral code that encompasses all possible actions.
That's why objective morality does not exist.
