everything you say is is "Stewie's" voice in my head, and that is just pure entertainment!
I aim to please, "vile woman!"

Nos,
I love Linux too...but malware alone is not really a reason to switch. And try not to get a false sense of security! Those platforms could get viruses too if malware writers decided to target those platforms!
.
just for kicks i'm curious if anyone lives in the tri-cities.
i live in kennewick and used to attend the south kennewick and riverside congregations.
Don't know Jason Sosa...
And Vancouver is on the other side of the state...

Doesn't Kennewick Man tend to destroy the faith of fundies in that area?
lol. Surprisingly no. This area is quite conservative. I think people assume Kennewick Man was a hippie that died in the 60's. Science doesn't know how to date anything, ya know.

To protect yourself:
Run a current antivirus/antispyware product that is keeping up-to-date with malware definitions. I recommend Norton AntiVirus 2009 -- great product, Norton really cleaned up their act with the 2009 version.
Use an alternate web browser. Internet Explorer can run ActiveX stuff (unlike other browsers), but that's also its Achilles heel. Many forms of spyware infect your system through that attack vector. I recommend Firefox. The only site that I have to use IE with is the Windows Update site, since it uses ActiveX components.
Configure your system so that it installs Windows Updates automatically and regularly.
Don't download software or open attachments from unknown or untrustworthy sources. Use discernment with popup messages; don't automatically approve them.

... and then figure out how to reinstall windows on my own, ey?
I thought the "Geek Squad" was gonna do that for you? Reinstalling Windows is not in itself too hard; the challenging part may be getting all the hardware drivers. Who made your system?
i picked up the holy trinity episcopal church june newsletter today.
this was included on page 5. i was raised in the episcopal church until the summer of 1970, when my mother moved us to atlanta after her divorce from my dad.
she stopped taking us to church, much to my detriment.
Dep, you won't be getting drunk or smoking during a service and I don't think it's a good place to find sexual conquests.
I guess I'll cancel my plans to visit that church, then.
Seriously though, I admire religions that allow such open thinking. A refreshing change from the thought control of the JWs and other cults.
please no sarcastic crap from mean members.. i had a family member kill herself over being raised by a c.o.
who told her that it ruined their life and that she was a mistake.. i have a 10 page report from a psychiatrist back, who was also a jw, in the eighties that is pretty incredible.. now, i was also born jw with a 100 year "truth" heritage to cause me the same guilt.. and it may be drivng me the same way.
i feel the same way my aunt felt.
Wow, just read this thread. Incredible. My deepest sympathies to you, 5thGen.
I am confident that with support you can make it through this... please hang in there...
