Congratulations!!!
I second the request for pictures to be posted.
we changed the wedding from saturday in order to give the newlyweds a chance to spend the weekend relaxing and getting settled as an official couple.
also, by having it friday night there is a chance, a possibility, that big tex will be able to get the night off so he can give the bride away (*sniffle*).
and there is also a chance, a possibility, that our beloved district overbeer will perform the wedding.
Congratulations!!!

Funny!
many of you make claim that god does not exist, you say that you found your evidence in the bible, what i want to know is where is the evidence.
i am not interested in just mere thoughts but actuall evidence
I want to know why you who were familiar with bible teachings for so many years, you went around and taught others about the bible by knocking on doors but now most of you have no faith in God, in Jesus and in church.
KGB, great question. In my case when I started to question the WTS I didn't just stop there. I started to question even the most fundamental beliefs in Christianity: the inspiration of the bible... even the existence of God. What it boiled down to is the "proofs" JWs for the inspiration of the bible are not impressive at all. First, the bible is not always scientifically accurate. Second, it is much more likely that the "prophecies" were adjusted later to fit history (and there's no way to prove they were not adjusted). Third, the book is not completely harmonious and contradicts itself all over the place.
With regards to the belief in God... I was just honest with myself and realized that I had never objectively felt/seen/witnessed God's presence in my life. It was much more likely that all of God's blessings on me were merely psychological.
My wife is studying very ancient religions and it is amazing how Christianity "borrowed" so many concepts from older religions. That too makes it even harder for me to imagine Christianity is any more special than all the other religions of the world.

Do you believe in infinity? Can you describe it? Where does it begin?
IW, this does bring up an interesting line of thought. I do not believe in infinite causality. I think *something* must have been there at the "beginning" that didn't require something else to produce it. The question is, does it seem more likely that this "something" was infinitely complex or infinitely simple?

This Scripture answers the above question:
That is hardly a satisfying answer (to me), but I don't have faith in the bible.

Who created your very own eyes that enable you to physically see your surroundings
Ah, I love this "evidence" for God. Ok, so we and all other creation are so complex and wonderful that it MUST have been designed. Designed by someone even more wonderous than the universe itself. Well then, who created/designed this superior being? If you cannot accept that the universe came into existence "by itself" then how can you so easily dismiss that God did not need a designer? The same God that is even more complex and wonderful than the universe?
do you believe that there is life right now on other planets?
how can we be alone since the universe is endless?
if god does exist, why did he create all of that, if man will never go there?
...hoping science finds a missing link somewhere...
That statement shows me that you have not really studied evolution.
i remember reading many watchtower/awake magazines that stated "there is enough bombs on this planet to blow it up 7 times over.
" (wish i had copies of the quotes/and pictures).. and after watching the scenes in terminator 3 of the earth being desolated by machines.. and after watching the war in afghanistan and iraq and seeing how many bombs the us used in these "small countries" with unreal precision.
i really doubt if it possible to destroy the whole planet, even if they wanted to.
Heh... I loved Terminator 3! I thought it was great; up there with Terminator 2 (maybe even a bit better).
hi everyone - just wanted to introduce myself.
i posted a hi over in personal experiences, but thought i'd elaborate here..... i was raised a jw in delaware, ohio.
you know, i was that girl all the old ones in the cong liked because i was kind to them and pioneered.
Welcome Betsy!

Here's one quote:
*** w88 9/1 p. 6 Satan Worship in Our Time ***
arsenals of nuclear weapons estimated at seventy times the quantity needed to kill every living vertebrate on earth
First, note they're not talking about the literal destruction of the planet... just people/vertebrates. They calculate how many people could be killed by one atomic bomb, multiply the answer by the number of bombs in existence, and divide by the population of the planet. Sounds like a typical numbers game.
People are spread all over the face of the earth; there's no way they could detonate bombs over every square mile of the earth. Of course you also have to worry about nuclear fallout...
