Well, it still made for a good movie.

The Philadelphia Experiment - 60 Years on
by searchfothetruth inthere are many different interpretations and views of what really happened, or didnt, when the u.s. navy embarked on a project to de-magnetize warships beginning in 1943. what has become known as the philadelphia experiment is not a subject to be taken lightly.
no matter what you believe about it or dont, its a fact that several people have died or been killed as a direct result of claiming involvement with the experiment.

Would you have left if you had it into a position of power?
by GermanXJW ini used to be a ms and stepped aside because i could not stand the wrong teachings (chronology, annointed etc.
) and the high pressure they worked unto people anymore.
when i stepped aside i also stopped going to the meetings and doing field service.. on the other hand, when i was in i was always longing for "privileges".

LittleToe, I just listened to your talk. Amazing; I'm glad you had the nerve to stand up and say what you did. I only hope that you were able to get through to some people.

Between Jay and Silent Bob, probably Jay, every thing he says just cracks me up.
Well yeah, it's hard to be cracked up by what Silent Bob says.
I've seen part of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, and I saw them in Dogma. I don't think I've ever seen Clerks.

Personally I'd like to see another "masturbation is good for you" thread. I don't think thee or four are enough.

LOL! As usual, avoid anything with a .0 version. I will wait until service pack 1 is released. I don't need a buggy god or one that crashes my system.

I think people can leave at any point (look at Ray Franz... he was on the governing body!) But I think it is probably more difficult to leave when you are "higher up"... the peer pressure is even greater.

Would you be willing to admit it if you've been a hypocrite?
by onacruse infor the last 20 years of my association with the jws, i was, more or less, a hypocrite.
they taught things i didn't believe, but i went to the meetings and, by my presence there and by my "non-answers" i in essence supported something that i didn't believe.. it's a hard thing to say "i was a hypocrite.".
i was.. craig

Yes, I think all JWs are hypocritical in one way or another. eg, JWs tell those of other religions that they shouldn't be afraid to seriously examine their current faith to find fault with it. (JWs of course won't do this themselves.) Also, ever have someone at the door say "My minister told me not to talk to you JWs." That was frustrating as JWs, but we of course would blindly accept anything our "leaders" say.
One of the things that I can be proud of since I'm not a JW is that all of my opinions are my own. I don't have to tell someone they should/shouldn't do something when I wouldn't even follow my own advice.

Abaddon,
If that one is similar to the "Test the Nation" IQ Test they showed here in the US, then yes, it was pretty good. Definitely among the better tests you can do yourself.
