Hi all and advice please

i am brand new here.

just browsing so far though makes me think that i may be spending a lot of time with you guys.

in searching for info i stumbled across this board because i have just run into a problem with the witnesses.

Having never been a witness, I can't understand why ex witnesses always ask this question. My reaction would be the legal threat, or better yet, the cheaper route of a good beating! IT IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS! My 13 year old's step father was trying to preach to him and me offering to feed him through a wood chipper did the trick. Thus far he clammed up.

I feel that your children's future is of much more importance. Do everything in your power to educate them about wts. I was married to one for 25 years and thank God out of four children, none are robotic. I understand that it is very difficult to open their minds if they were brought up as witnesses, but it has been done. I, for one, would not have the patience that some have, in order to accomplish this. I was fortunate to be in a position where my children always had the opposing view of things.

Please do not stand by and have them ruin their lives. You can research information on the web that is of great help in achieving this slowly and lovingly.

Non Jw and Jw can the relationship last?

i have recentley fallen for a very nice female.

she's in her early twenties and i am 31, age we dont have a problem with and to be honest and soppy we truly love each other, her family have disowned her because of what she believes, my family have their doubts but again thats not a problem, i value my familys opinions who have already voiced their doubts, but i would like to make this work, albeit for her beliefs.. i feel she has been shown this way, firstly by her best friend who was born into it and has recentley been disfellowshipped for falling for a non jw, and also by things which have happened to her in her short life.

i knew after the first month that she was a jw, but she kept telling not to worry, as it wouldnt affect our future.

Hello again Days, I don't have much time at the moment, I am trying to clear my workload, so my (Almost a robot) 13 year old son and I can head down to Florida for Xmas. He will certainly be glad to be away from his (Freakshow) jw mother and step dad.

Believe me! If anyone can boast having staying power, it would be me. I was marriedtothedub for 25 years. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY! no compromise with the R2D2S! It is always their way or no way. Sure, they sometimes have a little drone laps and behave like humans, but the guilt that they feel for being human is not worth it. My ex was trying so hard to be fair to both sides, that she wound up in the Hospital many times with a nervous breakdown. I did not even consider the fact that it was her religion that was causing the turmoil. I always thought that the religion was the only thing keeping her together. After all.....I was led to believe that this wonderful religion had helped so many troubled, satanic people, turn to God and straighten out. This could not be further from the truth! It really irritates me, when an ex on this board claims that there are many good things to be had in wts. I am sure that the Nazzis, Commies and any other High control group could claim the same thing.

I have spoken to many people that are/were in a mixed marriage with the dubs. The ones that are still together are suffering from self delusion. They claim that their spouse is different, they are reasonable, don't interfere with their beliefs, etc. That is HORSE MANURE! Upon further questioning them, you find that the dub gets their way always. They allow their children to be taken to the meetings (been there, done that) it teaches them to behave! (so does solitary confinement....would you choose that for your children?) I will have to live with the fact that my children are somewhat damaged because of it. (none of my four sons are dubs, thank God for that!)

I know that you may think that I was against the dubs in the marriage. Not even close! to the contrary. Even though they could never convince me, (I studied with different brothers over the years, in order to please her) that they had the trooth, I still feel guilty for forcing my children into attending meetings with their mother, even as young adults. They are so dishonest when it comes to wts. She always had my blood boiling with her constant tales of our children treating her badly when I was away from home. The poor boys would often get an earful when I got home. I only found out recently that she was not forthcoming about the reason. She would harrass them about not choosing the witness way of life. Not once did she tell me that this was the problem! Now I know that this is always their motive apparandi. (sp?) They are instructed not to be forthcoming with the unbeliever about such things. They are even told to hide the mags from the unbelieving spouse. It could upset him and he will endanger her faith.

I could write a book (thicker than Ray Franz's "In Search of Christian Freedom") about the negatives of a mixed marriage of this type. You would have an easier time being married to the likes of Charlie Manson, (Or a good looking sheep for that matter) than a jw.

Moving out!

i recently decided that i've dragged my ass long enough, and today i told my wife i would be moving out.

Don't be shy if you need any help moving, I am not that far from you. I wish you much strenght with your separation. Its never easy, no matter what the circumstance. Anytime you feel like you need company, to raise a pint or two, give me a call.

As you know, I have been at the settling thing for 7 years now, hopefully, it will be much sooner for you. The problem with my situation is two fold, she is not happy with me having half of our assets (Wordly people dont need anything, the big A is soon coming) and deserves all of it and she must indoctrinate our 13 year old. She has no chance of either happening! I will give the money to the courts, rather than her and my son knows more about the jws than she will ever know.

Make sure that you protect your assets. They are ruthless with no scrupels whatsoever! They will break every rule (Whether it be legal or moral.) I would rather deal with Attila the Hun, than the witnesses.

If you could live forever, would you and why?

her response was: "i would not live forever, because we should not live forever, because if we were supposed to live forever, then we would live forever, but we cannot live forever, which is why i would not live forever.".

I used to get the weirdest looks from my ex jw wife and friends, whenever I was asked this question. My answer was always a resounding NO WAY!. I don't care if you are youthfull and healthy, you have to be realistic about the prospect. No matter how many interests you may have, forever is a long, long, long time! You will eventualy beg for death.

If I were to believe in a higher power, I would be inclined to believe that IT would have a better purpose for his creation than to play with lions and tigers. There would have to be some evolving happening to keep me interested.

This is similar to the person that wins a obscene amount of money, only to state that he is going to keep his job as a window washer (no disrespect to this needed service.) They are thinking very short term. They are not seeing the big picture........But never...never...land sounds good!

My wife stole my books!!!!

i had an interesting conversation with a jw last week, who insisted that she was not 'brainwashed' and would be prepared to look at any evidence i had that the 'truth' was not the one true truth.. so i went to my book cupboard to get my copies of 'crisis of conscience' and 'signs of the last days - when?

' in order to lend them to her.. and they are gone!!!!

i am absolutely certain they were there only a few weeks ago.. i can only assume that my jw wife (whom i'm not on the best of terms with) has taken them.

I would be willing to bet, that she has been hearing voices in her head and other strange sounds. She spoke to the elders and other jws and they confirmed that something in your home was demonised. Of course everyone knows that apostate literature, antiques, etc. are the likely hiding spot for such things and she was advised to burn/and/or at least dispose of them.

You know (better than I do, never been a jw) that she will never admit to this. They are taught to lie through their teeth!

it has been accomplished, it's over, done, kaput.

a chapter of my life that has lasted 5 and 1/2 years has reached its final page and the book is now closed.

(no, i'm not talking about my sex life, that's been more than...erm, well, never mind).

Child Custody involving Jehovah's Witness Parent

Hello Natalie,.....You have found the right place for assistance!

I may have some important information for you regarding custody. I have managed to get custody of my son, in spite of being the horrible male species. (Most family court Judges, here in Canada, are female and most are male haters. I have never been known for being politicaly correct....sorry!)

The main thing that you have to stress upon is the best interest of the child. Courts will not consider religion (they stay as far away as possible) as grounds for granting custody. You must approach it from a different angle. You have to show that the jws lifestyle will be detrimental to the child.

I cannot give you more detail without having some background information on your particular situation.

I am truly sorry that you find yourself faced with this. Remember that the wts WILL help the jw with court costs and legal advice, if the person has exhausted their finances. THEY WILL BE BRUTAL if they wan't to be.

Haughtiness And The Witnesses

i find that the witnesses are very "haughty".

haughty is described in the oxford dictionary as "proud of oneself and looking down on others"; how well this describes the wtbts.. how many people were very proud of having "the troof"?

I will give you my perspective on this, from a never have been a jw.

I have been among jws for over 30 years and to be honest with you, I never considered them to be haughty. They certainly have a way of hiding this from non members.

I heard this from an ex jw at a meeting @ Mouthy's place after my ex split. This totally blew me away! Being on the outside, I always thought that they were such oddball and freakish individuals, suffering from many ailments and illussions. Most of my family and friends felt the same way. I could never understand what my ex meant by always stating that "You have met a lot of witnesses" you should know better. Now I am starting to understand what she was getting at by that comment. It was totally foreign to me at the time. I kept on thinking to myself "Ya, I know many witnesses, and they appear to all be a bit phyco" (Always hearing demon stories, phoney experiences, being royaly ripped off by others, etc., etc.)

They always feel people are persecuting them, when 99% of the rest of the world hardly gives them a secong thought, except when they are knocking at their door.
