i know some have posted similar topics like this, but i thought it might be kind of fun (for the new ones that are coming here in droves) and others, to give some examples of catch phrases etc, that are unique to the jw world.
here's a few to start:.... "muster up boldness", "sound down into our hearts","satan's crafty acts", "paradisaic", "young ones"," discernment".....these are just a few of the more irritating.
add yours if you'd like.. integ.
Drifting Away... Sitting on the fence... Get togethers... wholesome association... he is a marked brother... necking and petting - why can't they say making out and feeling up.
i was wondering how long it took for all of you to leave the org.
how active were you and for how long while knowing the "truth" was not the truth.
i ran into an old friend last week.
I was raised in the Borg and started to miss meetings at 22. I became fully inactive at age 24. And my nightmares of Armageddon ended about a year ago. I have no doubt in my mind that the Borg is a mind controlling cult.
i just want to say goodbye to all my new found friends.
i'll be in austria for the next two weeks and i might not have time to logon to what is now my favorite site.
this site is sooo addicting for an exjdub and i know i will have withdraws.....

when a jw, i began to get seriously into mountaineering / rock / ice climbing.
somehow i escaped being counselled about it, by talking to an elder in advance of their finding out, and having a fit.
statistics prove that more persons die from unroped "scrambling" than mountaineering with ropes).
Our congo football games got switched from tackle to flag because of the elders too. And your right our injuries jumped up too

A jdub friend I had was told by his elder/dad that in order to present himself holy to Jehovah that he could not skateboard anymore. His reasoning was if he got hurt he might not be able to go out in the field ministry. His father also tried to hint in a talk how our bodys were sacrafices to Jehovah and our youths should not paticipate in any sport or activity that could physically harm oneself. I think he meant we needed to live in a padded room reading the watchtower all day. What BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
after leaving the org... and confronting problems (in the real world), did you ever feel like... maybe this is a sign i shouldn't have left?.
i felt like this a couple weeks ago after finding out the guy i lost my virginity to (an other ex-dub), had a girlfriend the whole time we were together.
the thought of the org.
Take confort Girlonthefence it took me a couple of years after leaving before the Armageddon nightmares stopped completely. The thing that help me most was associating with ex-jdubs and talking about all the crap we were brainwashed with.
Hello Maria.... You will love this forum especially if you are a ex-jdub..... Look forward to hearing your story....
did you ever pioneer in your congregation?
i was an aux.
pioneer 4 or 5 months a year when my seasonal job was over.
I aux. pioneered once when I was 13 during the summer. All I can remember was the pioneer sisters car we rode around in most of the time had no a-c. That was hell in Miami....
what's a kingdom song you can remember singing that gives you the creeps now?
mine is "move ahead" i think that was the title, anyway it has so much rhetoric... but the tune is so darn catchy.... darn.... in my opinion, those songs are the perfect example of mind control.
move ahead.. move ahead ... blah blah blah blah blah .
Hey Realist nice flag.... I am leaving Saturday to goto Voralberg to spend time with the inlaws.... I''ll be in Vienna for a couple of days also....
Back on the subject...They used to make the brothers sing one verse then the sisters sing a verse at the DC all time, boy did I hate that. If Buthead was a Jdub - "Uhhh he said member"
