Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here and I just wanted to thank Simon and all the posters for such a awesome site. It is funny, serious, interesting and shocking all rolled up into one.
I am a raised dub who started fading at 16 and was completely out by 26. I now enjoy being a good Christian instead of a hypocritical, double lifer in the borg. If there are any x-dubs in south Florida I would love to meet you.

yeah... i do it all the time... sitting at work... but instead of working i'm reading and posting here.. anyone else guilty of this?
I do almost all my posting during work. My boss works in a office 4 hours away and most of the day I have nothing to do. So if you would come to the office you would likely see 4 guys either surfing the net or playing games. Typical telecom.
when i was in slovenia, the vast amounts of alcohol got to my stomach *i have a history of stomach problems to begin with* and i totally managed to get my stomach in such a bad shape that i did not take well to food, let alone alcohol.
so, i, the dutch district overbeer, have not been drinking for weeks.
i just came from my dad s, i had dinner there.
Well I don't want to sound rude but the thoughts of a tipsy Viv... Fun and Yummy...
And shamus there will be no banning of Viv, she is one of the best posters on the forum.

Having the CO over for dinner during his visit and having to put on the perfect jdub family act...
Our family study and doing the daily text...

has anyone here ever brought a never a jw spouse or significant other to a kh function like a wedding, funeral, or even a meeting?
how did they react?
or have you ever had your spouse or significant other express concern that you might rejoin the borg after going back to the kh for a family event?.
Integ that is too funny!!! I remember those lame ass get togethers with Jdub karaoke...
all of my life, i was told by the society that i should buy out the opportune time.
to them, this phrase meant that i should cut down on watching tv or some other worthless activity, and of course, spend that newfound time worshipping the great publishing company.
well, since i stopped going to meetings on april 10, 2002, i have discovered an entirely new and far more enjoyable application for the admonition to buy out the opportune time.
I now go to every Miami Dolphin and Miami Hurricane home game
I travel to Austria twice a year to see my inlaws
I spend the whole weekend with my wife
I have true friends to associate with
I wash my car more often now
And my yard is perfect too...
I LOVE not being a dub!!!!!

i always hated hearing everyone's "out of this world" field service experiences.
One of the favorite young sisters to use on assembly parts around my area had a big double life. Their were alot of rumors about her amongst us dub boys. Turns out they were true. I saw her at a restaurant with her girlfriend 8 months ago. She gladly told me she was a stripper and a huge swinger. I laughed and I asked about some of the rumors that went around about her. She didn't deny anything.
My parents would always ask me after young dub experiences at the assembly, why couldn't I be like them. I would think to myself if they only knew...
ok, i have been 'out' for about 9 years, now.
in all that time i have lived in 4 different states.
i have only had two visits from jw's during that time and both times they were from spanish congregations...the first time because my boyfriend at the time was mexican-american and someone told them we spoke spanish...the second time because my next door neighbors spoke spanish and they came to my place accidentally.. at any rate, both times as soon as they found out we spoke english, they scurried away and apologized for bothering us.
I live in a gated community and it is wonderful. Plus my phone # is not listed so there is no possibility of Tele witnessing. I used to see them around the metrorail stations and I guess they have been kicked out.
One time before I moved into the gated community they were in my neighborhood and they skipped my house. Why I don't know but they did. I think they were the spanish dubs and my house was listed under english.

when i first was studying with the duds, one of the things i found interesting is that duds are ok with drinking alcohol, "in moderation".
i never was a big drinker, usually one drink if i'm out and will have to drive and no more than three in any 24 hour period, even if i'm staying home.. i wonder if the fact the "the judge" was a rumpot contributed to the soft attitude on alcohol?
most of the brothers i knew were big drinkers and many of the older elders drank more with dinner that i drink in a weekend.
Here in Miami drinking is very prevelent amongst the congos. It was always a riot to see elders and servants at "get togethers" drunk. And ofcoarse 2 weeks later would come the local needs part about drinking. Scince I was always the one known in the congo as the "cool bro." and wouldn't tell anybody anything, I went out with alot of the bro's and sis's and partied very hard. I guess thats why I was never df'd. I know with my knowledge I could have enough dubs in trouble that they would have to delete a congo on the area.
