My scam was to never leave the house and still put down 4 mags, 5 hours, 1 RV.... It was a great way to keep the elders off my ass...

What scams did you use for counting your time?

(for example i met a woman here on the board whom i have never met personally but she knows some people that i grew up, even the 'brother' who gave me my first kiss..

Att: ex-Elders and Their Kids: Did You Really Have a Regular Family Study?
by Room 215 infriends, this is a sort of poll, directed mainly at -- but not limited to --ex-elders, their wives and kids.
it was my impression that, with the possible exception of meaningful personal prayer, the other aspect of the idealized, exemplary jw lifestyle that was portrayed at the assemblies and at meetings-- the regular, weekly family bible study -- was the one most neglected.
it seemed to be something the ``other" spiritual family did and the one thing we constantly agreed we ``needed to work on.".

After every assembly my father would have a regular text reading and weekly bible study for about 2 months. Then he would just complain how his children were not into spiritual things like "perfect jw family so and so". I also remember visiting my friends house on saturdays and having to go through the grueling 2.5 hour family watchtower study. Boy did it suck!!!!!!!!!!

The boring and uneventful lives of a JW

to me the meetings were just plain boring as hell and so "robotic".
i never did feel true love amongst the brothers and sisters as they always like to tout.

Yellowlab you said it well. Now that I have been out for awhile I can now see how depressed everyone I know that is a jdub is. My younger sister told me that my mother takes prozac for the depression. When my sister was still living at home my mother had her put on prozac too. When she left home the depression stopped and so did the drugs. I've been told by many xdubs that I wouldn't believe how many dubs are on anti-depressants....

Were You Ever Put On Any "Restrictions" While You Were A Witness?
by minimus inthe elders and the watchtower society are big fans of using "restrictions".
anytime a person has judicial action taken against them, they are imposed with "automatic restrictions".
even if a body of elders felt that a person was too fragile to have any restriction placed upon them, they were required by the society to "restrict" them in something.......were you ever put on restrictions?

Being that I was always on restrictions from the time I was 14 years old, I really considered it a good thing. I was only going to the meetings cause I had to and also my only social life existed there. Restictions meant I was never expected to do much as far as "reaching out". So when all the other young dub boys were preparing talks and aux pioneering, I was doing my own thing. They had to do the mics and read during the meeting while I stood in the back and talked to my friends. So yeah I was on restrictions and yeah it was cool...

what do you do when JWs call at your door now?

i have rebuilt my life, am very happy and have a wife and three kids who never were part of jw.
i have moved back into the town i grew up in.

I never had them call on my house either. My house is in a gated community and they won't even let the pizza deliverer in without a resident buzzing him in...

i am a coffee freak and this will help me get through the cravings for a quick caffeine fix!

My espresso maker of choice is the Jura. It is made in Switzerland and they have many models at prices from $350 to $2500. A good investment for a espresso lover. Drinking one right now!!!
