Well Bradley,

You obviously aren't out to win friends here yet I like part of the point that I think you are trying to make. Are most people just plain stupid? is your question. LOL.....next talking point for you is use of tact. I forgot what point number that is in the Ministry School.

Anyway, I do know that a lot of people including myself may slack off in our critical thinking. For example, it may be easier to be a couch potato than to do some serious research on whatever. I am trying to do just that as I think that developing my critical thinking and just my knowledge on certain subjects would be a good thing. That said, I am not a stupid person.

X-box or play station...

on one games sight (starwars) they say x-box but i've never heard anything about that??

My nephew (he is 20 now) likes X-box a lot. I haven't had either so I can't say from personal experience. He likes to play a lot of sports games and especially basketball with it.

we all know that we do not know the correct pronunciation of the name of god.

over 6000 times, the tetragrammaton is mentioned in the ot.

yet for some reason, most bibles do not use the name jehovah or yahweh but a few times.

My thoughts may or may not be popular. I don't think we know what God's name is but I think it is also the thought that counts. God is not going to hold it against us because we can't figure out the pronunciation.

I think we find God in individual ways. Religion and spirituality are 2 seperate things to me and I don't go the way of organized religion.

Also, what about the King James Version which is widely respected putting in the name Jehovah?

Michael Jackson, not guilty.the proof

an investigation by los angeles police and child welfare officials earlier this year that allegations michael jackson sexually abused a cancer-stricken boy were "unfounded" .

the report was published days before santa barbara county authorities publicly announced that they would investigate the same allegation.. does tom sneddon, the santa barbara district attorney, have a grudge against michael jackson?.

I haven't followed this story a lot, however a couple of things seem interesting. One is that Jackson as most know had to pay 20 million about 10 years ago to settle a similiar case. If you ask me, an innocent person wouldn't fork over that money unless he had some real incriminating evidence against him.

Also, what kind of a wierdo says that a non-family member (or even family for that matter) sleeping in the same bed doesn't constitute some sort of sexual or possible sexual situation?

I am not accusing him, but it just seems strange. 2 known accusers so far and more I gather that haven't been named.

i am still posting on another ex-jw site (under username ronnie45), but that site is as slow as molasses lately.. anyway, i am going to stay out of too much of the conflicts here and just will enjoy being here and sharing when i can.

Wow...there are a lot of replies to this one. Here is my personal belief on it. Take the example of a loving father and a son. If the son does bad stuff, would the father still love him unconditionally? I think the answer must be yes if did indeed have unconditional love.

If even the son didn't show love for the father, would the father still love the son? Again the answer I think is yes.

I know with my own dad and mom that they love me unconditionally. I have been in some bad trouble and they still love me. I could probably be any kind of a person and they would still love me. In fact, I know that deep down they would. And would they destroy me? No they sure wouldn't.

The deal with God must be the same way I think.

Brad,

You are absolutely correct that the classification of a group must come from the outside and not from just one person either. I would listen to a substantial majority of outsiders.

My personal opinion has been that the jw's are indeed a cult. As some know, they at one point changed up the rules on blood in some European countries because they were going to lose their tax-exempt status over that blood issue because it reeked of a cult instead of a religion. When the $$ was at stake, of course the witnesses backed down on it.

I think that they are a cult for several reasons myself. One is that it divides flesh and blood family members in regards to disfellowshipment. Dividing up a family in every sense is too much for me.
