I took the bread home from the memorial? once, and didn't even have to make a donation.
It was pretty good with a garlic dip.

the jehovah of the ot has left us a record of his dealings(myths) and would like you to grade him on his qualities such as: goodness, kindness, love, omnipotence, omniscience, as well as negative aspects of his personal qualities like anger, rage, revenge, and lack of compassion and indifference to the suffering of others.
jehovah asks that you please be truthful, and take a good look at his performance as god almighty in the ot, and don't hold back what you really think, he promises not to retaliate, or hold a grudge(fingers crossed).
Have you lost your keys or need to make your rent payment??
Well, I did lose my home as a result, but that was 13 years ago. Maybe I should be patient and keep waiting for his assistance.

Also, if you go to a convention some of the items on the stage, like plants and flowers, can be purchased for a "suggested donation". They also make it clear that they will not give you a receipt for this "donation".

I'm still waiting for a MS and his family to be stoned to death for stealing several thousand dollars from me. That's what happened to Achan and his family, right?

i am getting into it with a jw about this, who is claiming that wts encourages and allows jws to do charity work and give donations to non-jw charities.
i know i've seen the opposite in print in wts literature, but i can't find it right now.
google and searching this forum--haven't turned up anything.
Have in mind, too, that sometimes what may do the most good is something other than money. Jesus told his followers to "go, preach, saying, ?The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.? . . . You received free, give free." (Matthew 10:7, 8) Similarly today, Christians realize that the time, energy, and money spent in supporting Kingdom witnessing?which improves lives and gives hope?is charitable giving of the best kind.
I wonder how many JWs would actually give some watchtowers to a hungry homeless person. At least the paper can be used to insulate their clothing in cold weather.

They won't come out and give a set amount or percentage but there are the frequent nauseating talks about "Honoring Jehover with Your Valuable Things".
I never donated any money so they assumed I was constantly experiencing financial hardship, and counselled me accordingly.

i heard recently that jw men are not allowed to have beards - is this correct and what about ct russell?
Because when food gets stuck in beards it begins to smell bad.
On the other hand, this stored food provides the person with something to nibble on during meetings, helping them to stay awake.

.
what about www.jwreform.org ?.
don at www.captivesofaconcept.com
I seem to recall a scripture that says, "That which is crooked cannot be made straight." I forget where it's located. But I remember JWs using it to show me that "false religion" and "this system of things" can't be fixed, and that their destruction was the only solution.

i was out to lunch with my wife today and she was telling me how our child did not want to go to school that day because they were doing a bunch of st patricks day stuff.
our child really can't stand being different and left out.
i feel so bad for my child.
Then she said, "Well, I think the thing with birthdays is that they weren't celebrated by the early Christians."
Do we know for sure the early Christians didn't celebrate birthdays? I don't recall any scripture that specifically stated that they didn't. The bible speaks only of two birthday celebrations where something bad happened, and that's the excuse the society uses to ban birthday celebrations. There is no biblical prohibition on it.
Saying the early Christians didn't celebrate birthdays because the bible doesn't mention it is like saying North America didn't exist because the bible didn't mention it either.

hi all, just dropping by and throwing out a question or two.. two of our department managers are both very obese and therefore cannot do all the tasks that their positions require of them.
as a result of that, the peak time workers, those working while the store is most busiest, end of doing a lot of the physical work they leave for us.
it gets pretty hectic when people are trying to shop and we are getting out ladders and stocking shelves.
These gals buy potato chips and candy bars every day and act offended if you mention weight loss to them.
Why shouldn't they be offended when someone mentions weight loss to them? Do you have any idea how often overweight people have to listen to people butt their noses where they have no business? Usually several times a day. It never ends.
If you have issues with their work then discuss their work with them, not their weight! Performance in the workplace may be your business, but someone's weight IS NOT!
I've been overweight for the last 20 years due to health issues, but I still work hard and accomplish more than anyone in my department. That doesn't prevent people from coming and flapping their stupid goddamned mouths about my weight. Stupidly, these people assume that I owe them some explanation about my medical history. I don't.
Over time, I've found that the people who talk the most about obesity usually know the least about it. They are often people with no medical training. When I want to discuss my weight problem I go to a competent medical professional who will reserve judgement until a thorough examination is performed.
Personally, I find one big mouth far more offensive than a thousand big stomachs.
