the only explanation that i ever got was that jesus said to "do this in remembrance of me" meaning the taking in of the wine and unleavened bread.
he never said "not" to observe his birth or his resurrection.

He didn't tell them to distribute literature either, or to report field service? hours and placements? every month, or to call themselves publishers?, pioneers?, or auxiliary pioneers?. He didn't ban facial hair either.

And they don't do that properly either. For JWs, their public rejection of the bread and wine is the important thing, not the resurrection.

i've just learned from a trusted contact at thewatchtower.org 'norris', that the society intend to put a resolution to the congregations shortly - though definately not at the 'special talk' meeting next month.. here's the scary bit.
this resolution needs to be responded to by all baptized jehovah's witnesses.
we have not been able to get hold of the wording but have been informed it is intended to provide the brotherhood with the opportunity to affirm their loyalty to jehovah and his organization.
Now the WTS is reading this thread thinking, "Those dumbasses will fall for anything!!"

Funny how that works, eh? The watchtower is guilty of lies, hypocrisy, abuse, and false prophecies, and this is provable, but they think it's ok. But when someone points that out they say he "went apostate".
I must first humble myself and repent truly and Jehovah would be a merciful and forgiving God.

If this is true, it would mean that we drifters will have to think about a response if for different reasons we don't want to be considered "disassociated".

many firm believers have been led away from the faith by the active apostate community on the web.

I learned that one peice bathing suits just dont cut it for me!
