This is kinda harsh but a household of my old witness buddies used to use Watchtower and Awakes as toilet paper when they ran out of, er, toilet paper.
What a wonderful use of the society's spiritual tripe!!!
I thought of it but never did it. I didn't want to defile my arse with inferior paper, not to mention the ink stains that might build up in my trench. Can you imagine the multicolored skid marks you could leave behind after wiping your butt with a nice, bright, picture of paradise?

They don't circulate 20 million...They print 20 million.
I was thinking this so I checked when I got home. Sure enough, the figure represents the number of magazines printed, not circulated.
I remember how my own stacks of magazines always piled up and ended up in the recycling bin. And I knew many JWs who had suitcases filled with unplaced literature and magazines. Reminds me of an Amway distributer I once knew who had a ton of unsold products.
It makes me wonder if the average magazine placements recorded in the KM each month is actually magazines placed or the number of magazines printed, or shipped out of Bethel.

Marriage Proposal.
by Englishman ini just found out today that my jw mum has turned down a proposal of marriage for the fourth time.
none of the proposals were from the same guy either, although all 4 were jw's.
i'm also told that mum's considered quite a dish for an octogenarian.. however, i'm also reliably informed that one of the main reasons for her refusals is because of the df'd "state" of my kid brother and myself.. see, she's considered a mature dub, one of the elite, and she also gets her own quiet ration of new light.

My mom's 83 and I would raise bloody hell if some "brother" started coming on to her now. I already had to contend with one MS who was trying to convince her to sell her house to him at a "pioneer rate".

condemnation....criticism....'i can do better than you'....jealousy that you can't circulate 20odd million each issue? that you can't produce the quality print and variety of human topics?
Come on guys/gals...what are you doing better before you condemn? It must justify your own position, or something like that.

If I had over 6 million drones who were willing to be my unpaid distributers of free literature I'm sure I could come up something worth reading. Certainly something that had more depth than the Awake! magazine. I could write articles on boolean algebra, variable subnetting, IP packet filtering and network protocol analysis. I doubt I could provide many pretty color pictures. I'm not much of an artist, and it's been a while since I've tried fingerpainting. I would gladly accept donations. Walter

Anyone have 'new light' on US vs Russia?

i have been out for many years, and i know they used to teach that russia and the us were going to have the great war and then destroy all religions except the witnesses.

The watchtower hasn't said much of anything about the "king of the north" since the breakup of the soviet union. I heard some people speculate that it might be Iraq, Islam, or the UN. But the society's been very quiet about it. As long as they keep their mouths shut they'll tell fewer lies.

Isn't that what it's always been? Do you mean it's become even worse than previously?

by aniron inlast tuesday my jw nephew 26 yrs old, got df'd.
seems his jw father (my brother) and mother came home and caught him having sex, with a guy!!
seems they walked in when the guys were right in the middle of it.
