  Brothers In Good Standing

  i heard today that brothers who volunteered at assemblies were only accepted on the proviso that they were "brothers in good standing".

  i also heard that anyone reproved or df'd might have to wait for 3 to 5 years before being allowed to clean the gent's loos as a volunteer.. is that right?

  what other things are held back from folk who aren't quite up to the mark?.

  I'm sure I can think of more but the taste of bile is getting a little too strong.

  thruout the bible god gets reports from angels, satan etc about whats going on here on earth.

  you have the opportunity to show god whats going on in your area, your experience etc.

  tonight i heard one of the most cruel and twisted comments i've ever heard at the platform.

  the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.

  through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.

  This is true. They don't know the date of armageddon, or anything else for that matter. And it's no "secret".

  That would put them in a position to mislead, if possible. The WBTS is in this position, do you agree?

  Personally I think all religions are misleading people, but the Watchtower seems to be a little more proactive than most.

  My ex had an interesting take on the society. She, even as a believing jw, felt that the society was a parallel of "apostate Isreal" but was still "God's organization."

  Why is everything related to pagan origins?

  why is everything in dub-land put through the "pagan" filter.

  it hasn't resulted in a better "dub", they're a vile bunch as a whole.. .

  example: what if someone out of the goodness of their heart and for no apparent reason wanted to celebrate (say without the traditional cake w/candles) the "birthday" of their child.

  Couldn't it be said that eating, even wearing clothes has 'pagan' origins?

  I'm sure that just about anything can have so-called "pagan origins". I don't know of any JW who shuns Chinese food because it originated with non-jws. For the watchtower, it's all about money. And holidays cost money that could be otherwise contributed to the worldwide work?.

  that witless families can ask their kids after they've read the magazine.

  With it's lies, false prophecies, and abusive policies the Watchtower is the greatest source of reproach on god's name. I would be surprised if he was using them for anything. I'm sure he could do better than that.
