while reading different posts referring to lost friends or relatives that ha shunned us since we left the borg, it occurred to me that although losy many so called friends when i left, these same friends called me first when they ran into "trouble".

has anyone experienced this - an old friend calling you because they are afriad that they are about to be disfellowshipped?.

if so how did you react?

I would probably tell them that "Jehover will provide". That's all anyone did for me when I was a JW and had problems.

said that the "watchtower bible and tract society of canada" will change its letterheads and signature to "christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses".

I recall they formed several corporations several years ago. It's all probably part of what they call "simplifying", even though there's little that's simple about it.

I'm sure it's all about protecting their $$$.

i just wish to know does the wts have a deliberate policy of splitting married couples if one of the spouses leaves the org even if adultery is not involved?

do they at least indirectly encourage this to happen?

and if yes is this a fairly recent policy?

Yes, that is what the watchtower would have its members believe, that everyone who isn't an active JW is an adulterer. They like to think that they alone are holy, while all other people are nothing but demonized, drug crazed, drunken bastards from hell who do nothing but screw and murder all day long.

But they don't like to be reminded that some who attend meetings are child molesters.

What do they do at a Sunday morning service at a Jehovah's Witness Service?

i was thinking of dropping in some sunday morning but is that allowed or do you have to be invited?

will i have to listen to somebody put down other denominations, etc....?

Don't forget, the time before and after the meeting is probably more important than the meeting itself. That's when people "fellowship" with one another because they have no time for one another once they're out of the hall. The up and comers will try to hobnob with the elders, taking every opportunity to suck up to them. The elders wives get together and cackle about the latest gossip in the congregation. Try to evesdrop on these conversations, as it is probably the most accurate source of news in the congregation. Sometimes it gets pretty juicy. Make sure you notice those who don't talk to anyone. Avoid them at all costs. These ones are the lepers of the congregation. They're not DF'd, but the congregation elite have determined that these must occupy the position of social outcast. Talk to these people and you're committing social suicide.

Above all, let the elders know how privileged you are to meet them. They crave such attention.

A world filled with JWs would not remotely resemble a paradise even in the wildest stretch of the imagination.

It ruined my marriage. We had our share of problems anyway, but my leaving the org made matters much worse. Even without intervention of elders, the believing spouse has to live every day with someone they believe is nothing more than a walking corpse. Every time she said something about the "truth" I would offer my opinion on the subject. Then I would be accused of trying to "undermine her spirituality". I'm convinced the elders were coaching her during the final months of our marriage; many of the things she said and did were very out of character.

for an oldie i'd pick audrey hepburn singing moon river ... mmnnnn, i never get tired of that.. currently i'm listening to norah jones an aweful lot.

she is very easy on the ears and is my "audible-heaven" right now.. so who's voice makes you 'melt' ?

Voice does little to make me melt. I'm a shallow person, so it's all about looks. But I don't mind when a woman hums a little.

I rarely pay any attention to singing or lyrics. I've enjoyed some songs for many years, and I don't have a clue what the words are. Mostly it's instrumental music that gets me off.

A comment I heard tonight

tonight i heard one of the most cruel and twisted comments i've ever heard at the platform.

the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.

through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.

Also??? I haven't noticed you "eating anyone for lunch" here. If anyone here has stopped responding to you it's probably because they recognize one fundemental truth - that some people are born stupid and remain that way their entire life. You are just such a person.
