  My First Apostate Vacation -- Surfing and Dope and Counter-Culture

  well, it's been almost a year since i have been out of the borg "mentally".

  and almost 6 months since officially da'ing myself and stepping away from friendships that i had worked at for a decade.

  actually, they stepped away from me, but whatever.. it's been a heady year for me.

  An independent vacation is a really good way to sort one's thoughts after leaving a cult. I did it myself a few years ago in France, while I was cycling along the river Loire. I spent a lot of time thinking. I also read and translated some life experiences of former JW's. Having a sport vacation was also a good thing to cheer me up. I lost some weight and gained some selfconfidense. I can recommend!

  What does a JW have to do, to be SURE he will be saved at Armageddon?

  write down everything a jw must do in order to be saved at armageddon.

  don't leave out anything.. and maybe you can add things he musn't do either..

  A JW can never be sure about being saved - as mentioned above. The nearest thing, is to give a monthly report and to be submissive.

  EX JW numbers

  for those out there that play with figures we can calulate the number that have joined and left but how does the number that have left over say twenty years compare to the numbers still in.

  are we starting to out number them in some places?

  I think Jerry Bergman has estimated that there are almost as many ex JW's as there are active JW's. I just couldn't find the site. And I don't remember if he counted the children, too.

  i wonder if there are any statistics or reliable info if even regional that give the number of jws that died due to wts policies against blood transfusions (and organ transplants for a limited period).

  and also about people that committed or attempted suicide under their destructive cultish influences.

  Is it morally OK to try to free people from the WTS and how?

This is what researchers Monty G. Marshall and Ted Robert Gurr say. They have calculated that the whole impact of war on humans or countries is now only 60 per cent of the peak in the mid-80's. Wasn't that the time when JW's were waiting for the "Peace and Security"? Anyway, this surely proves "the sign of the end" to be merely a fable.

  Use of the word jah?

  i have noticed on ex sites the use of the word jah in reference to jehovah.

  is this just a slang used by ex's or do active also use it?

  if active members use it, doesn't it seem a bit disrespectful then?

  In their Branch reports, they use the abbreviation Jeh for Jehovah. I found it highly amazing.

  Here in the Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland) you do not neet to meet with the elders if you want to DA you. You can just go to a magistrate ("civil office") and fill in a form. JW's do not have the right to take contact with you after that (though they will try and do it to ensure). So simple! I did it a few months ago. It is official, law-bound and civilised. I hope, you will some day have the same human rights as we have here.

  Now German WTS has access to Registry Office

  today, a german radio station commented on the court case won by jw in germany.

  they now have to recognized as a public body which has mainly impact on taxes.. .

  but the radio station also commented that now jw have access to the regitry entries of each citizen at the registry office.
