Aortic Stenosis

i just got back from the doctor,he say the echocardiogram reveals aortic stenosis,narrowing of the valve.however,i have no symptoms of this,and so he is scheduling me for a visit to the cardiologist.. i have done some research on the heart and this problem,in the long run valve replacement is usually the way to go.. i need to wait and see what the cardiologist will recommend.that's it for now.. blueblades, trying not to be anxious.

I too have aortic stenosis. According to my doctor, everyone no matter how large or small in frame has the smae size valve. 2 centimeters. He said that Ian operation isn't needed util it closes to 8 centimeters. Thats when it goes into the critical stage. The two replacements are a pig valve and a mechanical one. The problem with the pig valve is that it also will start to calcify and because of that will only last about 10 years ( according to my doctor). A metal valve should last about 20 years. He told me that the most a valve would close is about 1 centimeter a year. My valve is calcifing, I don't know if this what you have, but I hope this information is helpful to you. okay, i always look with suspicion on topics that talk about how evil certain jws are, but i am a little curious about this -- who are the "bad guys" on the gb and who are the "good guys" (if any)?

my experience: ted jaracz -- the bad guy.

i've discussed a little of my contact with him in the past.

Any Good People left in the Organization

to me it does not make sense to believe that.

personally, i know that there are still fine brothers there but that is my personal experience not worth much on a discussion board so reason must be applied, imo.. .

My experience has been that there are many "good" people still in the organization. They are just missguided as we were. Perhaps some of us are taking our anger of the organization and transfering in unto the people. I am sure that we all can think of those who were kind and caring to others. It is not the individual who decides to shun someone or to stay away from an inactive one, it is the policies of the Borg that do that. The individual witness is doing what they think is the right thing in God's eyes. We can't fault them for that, only pity them. Of coarse, there are some who show no inkling of understanding of what being a christian means. These individuals make everyone's life misserable.

i've known for years that if i was visited at my home by jehovah's witnesses, i would have become a do not call.

i would have firmly but politely told the witnesses to never come back to my door and bother me again.

since i was raised "in the truth", i learned the religion from infancy.

I was born into the "truth". I was a true believer. Because of what they taught, I was on dialysis for over 12 years... I was afraid that receiving a kidney transplant might offend Jehovah. Even though the idea that a transplant was no longer concidered cannabilizm, I still worried that it was the right thing to do. It sickens me thinking of all those years wasted.

The event that got me starting to doubt was 9/11. I was in the hospital at the time, I was lying in my bed and on the televiosion came the dreadful event. I saw the staff at the hospital crying and upset. I heard outcries of sorrow and as the days went on I watched the tv day and night. I saw people from all over the country dropping eveerything and coming to NY to help. There was this great outpouring of humanity. All that kept going through my head was that these people are in no way acting the Society talks about the world. I wondered what the Society was doing to help. I had read in article in the publications of relief efforts during storms and waas sure we must be doing something. ( Much later an article came out that had no mention of helping anyone. Only that they gave some comfort to those that seeked it.) I thought of how these men were supposed to be the future rulers of the world and that they, like Jesus, having the human experience and great compassion would lovingly restore mankind back to perfection. I wondered why these men were not doing anything to help. Souldn't they be heart sick and doing eveything possible to relieve pain.

After returning home there was a study article that was the turning point in my search for answers. It was a simple word. The word "may". For as long as I can remember theSociety as always talked about one of Rutherford's talks "Millions now living will never die". Except now in that particular article it quoted it as "Millions now living may never die". This simple change of a word ment alot. It demonstrated to me that the Society was was not what I thought it was. I had always believed that everything that was written was truthful. That they had researched very carefully and diligently. That there was no reason for us to verify anything that they stated because they already did the research. I wondered what else they had taken liberties with, so I started doing my own research. I typed the name of Charles taze Russel in my search engine and was amazed when I found so much about him. It shocked me to discover that there were groups of people still following his teachings, when the Society said that this "evil class" came to nothing. Again another lie. The more I stuided Russel's teachings the more I couldn't beleive that I was part of these beliefs. I have read Ray Franz's book and other books since then.

Thank you ... It is good to have a place to come to where people have come to understand the falsehood of the religion. Without this site I would be alone. It has been a great sorce of encouragement .

Hello Everyone .. This is my first posting .. I have been coming to this website and reading and learning for about two years ... I have learned alot and this site has helped me free myself from the organization. Thank you all ..

My least favorite GB is without a doubt Ted Jarez. he was my C/O just befor he became a GB member. I was about 19 and I took the week off to work with him in service. The day that I worked with him, all he did was ask me about another brother, who was out inservice that day. He seemed to be very interested in this brother. He never asked anything about me or said anything of encouragement to me. We went to three or four doors with no one answering. Then we approached a door and a little boy about 11 answered. Ted said to me " You take this one" and he walked away from the door and met up with the brother that he kept asking me about. He never worked with me again. I never had anyone else ever do that nor have I ever seen anyone do that other than him.

Later in the week, my Aunt had the privillage of having him and his wife over for diner.( gagging). Her intentions were for my Uncle to be encouraged by his visit, since he was inactive. When my Aunt signed up to feed him, she was told what to prepare. He was on a special diet and she had to make what it a certain way. Ted's and his wife came and his wife helped my Aunt prepare the meal. She was there to make sure that it was what he could eat. The meal went fine, but afterward was something else. My Aunt and ted's wife cleared the table and stayed in the kitchen and washed the dishes. Meanwhile my Uncle and I were with him. Instead of having a conversation with us or trying to encourage my Uncle, he sat there and asked for the newspaper. He sat at the table and read the paper in front of us. Holding the paper up covering his face from us. My Uncle tried to talk to him, but he would only give a quick response and continued reading. To this day my Uncle and I still talk about the arrogence of that man.
