* that anyone can respond to even if they weren't born in, or even if they never were in the borg.
the question is;.
"when do you first remember realising that you were a jw, and that the rest of the world wasn't?!.
Hehehehe... Once I'd started school, I wasn't allowed to attend the school assembly on Mondays and Wednesday's.
They sacrificed chickens... well, listened to a few aphorisms, sang a hymn "All things bright and boo-ti-ful" and had a prayer (we can pray in British schools, aren't we free?) ... I know 'cause I went in a few times as I loved singing so ... but, I wasn't allowed to attend. I just didn't get why.
As I lived around the corner from the school, I was allowed to turn up fifteen minutes late. Of course, this was considered very cool by my friends, but they wanted to know why.
I made up this silly story about how I lived on my Uncle's Farm at the weekend (and Tuesday nights!), and it took longer to get in. I wasn't a very good liar I guess, at least then. I lived in the centre of London!
Anyway, I was tortured with guilt by lying, and eventually decided to tell the truth, haha. So I said that my Uncle was selling his farm, and substituted the correct reasons (imadifferentreligion).
However, the Bitch who was my form tutor, who knew full well what the reasons were, made me TELL everyone about my Uncle's farm being sold, in detail. Argh! I can still remember the embaressment.
Thing is, I think none of my classmates thought it odd, cause no one said a thing. I was five though, so maybe I or they missed it.

consider, dear brethren, these scriptures:.
first, genesis,2 verse 16 .
..."and the lord god commanded the man, saying,of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.
The whole account is a fabrication.
Now, if we use mathematical principles (two negatives make a positive), then someone lying in a fictional account is actually telling the truth. And someone telling the truth is, well, lying.
Anyway, any sensible person knows we are on the back of four huge elephants stood atop a massive turtle, the Great A'tuin.
No, seriously, isn't it funny how Greco-Roman creation myths are taken as myths, and the Biblical creation myth is taken as something to be poured over and discussed at length? Anyone not exposed to the Bible and then given it to read would assume that it was just another creation myth well before they got to the ventriloquist snake bit.

i'm wondering if any of you suffered major guilt over getting yourself off while a dub.
or did you all manage to abstain until you left?
i know it was one of the main reasons i left.
backout2nite; Maybe that's why I dance so well! I wanked lots! A little more, I would have dress-sense, a flair for interior design and colour coordination, and be gay as the day is long.
I guess it's too late now. Or maybe I did it enough, but didn;t do it right. Maybe there's a funny way of holding it that makes you gay.
I know that electromagnetic radiation coming (fnar) from my monitor screen when I read posts by gay people makes me gayer; it's those gay vibes!

I was about four years old. I was in America on holiday with my parents. We went to a meeting (Concord, NH, I think), and after went to the house of a family of Dubs. I went upstairs and played with a boy around my age, and at some point he asked me if I was a Jehovah's Witness. I answered "Of course I am". And then realised that "Of course" wasn't strictly true, as other people were obviously not JW's.

after much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.
it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.
i'll update it more when i get the time and the strength.
Wow. That's pretty rock'n'roll.
Did you get it all out? Or did you get pulled off?
Brave man!

many on this board claim the account of jerico in the bible epitomizes a mean, murderous god, who killed women and babies.
unjustly.
also, they claim the whole account is bogus.
Once again an apologist takes the fact that something may have happened rougthly the way it says in the Bible as some kind of proof of the Bible's accuracy in other areas.
Did anyone say the Bible was a completely fictional account? No. It's a historical document of varying accuracy.
During the first ethnic cleansing of Palestine by the Israelites they took a city called Jericho. Wow, a historical event. And?
BUT there's no proof the walls fell down by divine action.
As for justifying killing women and children, please, does it make sense to kill children to stop child sacrifices? It might work, but does it make sense? And killing people for what they do with their genitals? Please.
And this sentence is wonderful;
(d) Finally, it still is true that these Old Testament narratives illustrate the fact that innocent people (e.g., infants) frequently have to suffer the consequences of evil acts that others generate, due to the kind of world in which we live. So, god, rather thn killing just the bad people (which he could do, he's god) kills innocent people as well, but it's not his fault, it's the bad people's fault. Eh? So if US troops machine-gunned children of defeated Taliban fighters, that's okay, as their parents are 'bad'. Ooooo. God has great morals!

part 4: the last km school .
the average jw elder participates in extra exclusive activities over and above the rank & file jw: among them are the judicial committees, private meetings with the circuit and district overseer on various official occasions, possession of the secretive flock book, and kingdom ministry school.. of all these, the least frequently experienced is km school.
it is not all that exciting, because much of what is covered is admonition about what most jws already know that elders are supposed to be doing: examples in field service, regular shepherding calls, meeting preparation and attendance, study with the family, etc.
This SexyTeen/Yoyomuthaphuquer character is funny.
Apart from the fact it sounds like it might go postal.
But seriously, do you think it thinks we don't know it's a deceitful little liar. With negative credability. Who was probably seeing if he could 'capture' evidence of how evil apostates try to convert an innocent teen as part of it's perverted defence of the indefensable.
And who is the father of lies?
Hey, who's your daddy Sexymuthphuquer?
You are a dellusoid apologistic moron; the only evil here is what you bring with you.
Love and kisses

well, since we already have the "taboo" thread of shaving/trimming... down there, why not have the shaved legs thread?.
i ask this, because i'm not sure if i should shave mine or not.
i have naturally hairy legs/lower body, and it would take regular shaving to make the itching stop!
I shaved my legs when I used to ride bikes a lot (including racing Mountain Bikes a bit back in the eighties when the sport was reaklly new in the UK).
It's nice, but unless I decide to cycle competitively again, I can't seem me doing it.
I think my body-hair diestribution is silly; takes a week of not shaving to get a patchy 'miami-vice' beardlet on my face, my back is hairless, I have about five chest hairs, I trim my pubes, and my legs are hairy. I look like a Cro-Magnon with Neandethal legs.
But my baby likes it, so I don't care...
Girls with thick leg hair are not something I am accustomed to, although I've been out with a few girls who don;t have to shave much due to very fine leg hair.

maybe it is because i am left handed, first born and received contrarian ideas during my education, but i see some things differently than many here.. 1. jws a cult: i don't think they are a cult.
i think they are a high control sect.. 2. brain washing: i don't believe that jws are brain washed.
i think they are indoctrinated if they came in as adults, and i think they were enculcated and enculturated, if they were raised in it.. 3. disfellowshipping: everyone says how terrible and awful it is.
"1. JWs a cult: I don't think they are a cult. I think they are a high control sect."
Personally, I think the semantic difference between 'high control group' and 'cult' is small, were it not for the negative nature the word 'cult' has. But they are functionally the same thing.
"2. Brain Washing: I don't believe that JWs are brain washed. I think they are indoctrinated if they came in as adults, and I think they were enculcated and enculturated, if they were raised in it."
I agree, and think that's an excellent way of putting it.
"3. Disfellowshipping: Everyone says how terrible and awful it is. Well, what did you expect? You knew the rules. You would have done the exact same thing when you were a true believer. If you get so much as a hello, you should consider yourself lucky."
Sorry, disagree due to difference of opinion. If most religions get away with not shunning, why do JW's do it? Look past the slender scriptual backing and we get to point 1 above; they are a high control group/cult, and forcibly detaching people from their social group if they show dissent (let alone sin) is a good control method.
"4. The blood issue: All religions and governments require that you be willing to die for something. Their particular choice is peculiar, but the request for your life is not unique, by any means."
Disagree due to statement not being factual; larc, not many religions or governments require that you die for something. Please give an example. We like in a democratic age with no conscription. Name one mainstream religion where you are required to be willing to die for something. Islam is not an example, as it doesn't require people to die for something, although some use the doctrine of martyrdom, this is an added extra, not par for the course.
